Iraq is a sandpit in the Middle East with a boatload of oil under its territory.
The dictator appointed, funded, armed, and approved of by the United States made a silly strategic mistake, so he got pwned and hung.
It might, at best, make three cool new states, but at worst will end up under the boot heels of whatever thugs the US "appoints" to democratically run the hellhole it has become.
