Northern Ireland
From RationalWiki
Part of the United Kingdom which, rather surprisingly, does not include the whole of northern Ireland, or even the most northern part of the island of Ireland, which is in the South despite being some miles north of the northernmost part of the North. Also, is not coterminous with the Province named as Ulster, which contains more counties (9) than the country of Northern Ireland (6). Even though for years Ian Paisley would foam at the mouth about Ulster.
If not confused enough already...the Constitution of Ireland says that Northern Ireland is part of Ireland, most of the inhabitants of Northern Ireland reject this, claiming that the North is not part of Ireland, although they accept that it is part of Ireland. They reject being part of the the Republic of Ireland (the state), not of Ireland (the island), because they are not that mad.
