Democratic Party

The Democratic Party is a moderately conservative political party in the United States. It has a substantial liberal wing among the public at large, and in the House of Representatives. Its main opposition comes from the ultra-conservative Republican Party. Its primary political platform used to be to roll over to Bush-McCain schemes and fail to provide effective leadership for a broad spectrum of increasingly disenfranchised liberal voters, including immigrants, philanthropists, scientists, consumer activists, copyright reformers, people who can't afford seven-figure bribes, and almost anyone who isn't white, male, rich, and psychotically religious.

The Democratic Party has made the mistake of failing to frame its issues in terms of its constituents' prejudices, instead offering "solutions" to "problems" that can easily be "solved" by giving powerful people money to ignore them.

The party's fortunes turned around in the 2006 and 2008 elections, giving them newfound electoral success and growth, mainly because of a group called the Club for Growth, which has proven to be a wildly successful strategy for growing the Democratic Party beyond anyone's imagination.
