Red Exclamation Marks

I try to look at the red exclamation marks & the edit for the New World Encyclopedia wasn't instantaneously understandable. As thinking hurts and it was made by a BoN, I asked for an explanation & reverted it (I felt the Power)... larron^{sicut fur in nocte} 21:36, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

I went through them all and then went to the last one and hit "rollback". In the meantime you had undone only the last edit, so I went back to the pre-BoN version and saved that. One edit BoN made was to insert weird argumentative language into the middle of an obviously quoted section. Q2. The short version is Rob figured that he had something he could hold over RW, so he started bitching on WP about who founded RW and insisting it be changed to PalMD being the sole founder. He immediately took it to as many boards as he could, and was uniformly told he was full of shit. Now he's trying to get it changed back to the version with mistakes in it then deleted, apparently to get rid of the history, then have mention of RW removed from the CP article over there. All the while leaving cryptic threats of dragging all and sundry before ARBCOM and whatever other board he can get his hands on. Random factoids:

• The user "LJ" never became the "shared account" it was intended to be.
• When Susan left and never coming backed, she explicitly said she'd return if the Lumpy Jugulars was called into session.
• We have no idea how to call the Loose Jitneys into session, how or where.
• I suggest we use RobS' insanity as a "test case", to experiment with process.

Here is what I propose. We use the forum for "cases". Each case becomes a new subforum. Whoever opens a case should 1. be directly affected by whatever they are complaining about and 2. use the "email this user" feature to inform each of The Seven of the new case 3. make sure they present their complaint clearly with good difflinks to evidences.

I can't get the authentication message that is supposed to get sent to verify my email address, so my email preferences are not working. I have hit the button to send a message manually on 3 occasions, with no luck. The process worked on my Wikiversity account. Could you please look into this? My email is sam4557@gmail.com. Human i got an honest question for ya.

I'm not entirely clear on what you don't understand, could you please explain? The basic idea is supposed to be that the fun page I want to make will consist of a number of "tips," along with examples (both from fiction, and for real-world conspiracy theories) of conspiracies that followed or failed to follow these tips. For example, one tip is not to leave signs of your conspiracy everywhere when you don't have anything to gain from it. Cryptic puzzles are a bit like "regular" crossword puzzles, except that 1) there are a lot fewer crossing words in most cases, and, most importantly, 2) the clues are insane. For instance, to use Frank's explanation, "ground rules" = "lures". Get it? Grind up "rules" and you get "lures". Wikipedia has a great article on them, and I have a fistfull of links to them at this dump. Personally, I don't mind the expense of pre-cooked bacon, since cooking it is so messy - I once heard you are supposed to cook it nekkid, since the splattering fat (too hot) will be obvious. 10 seconds per slice on high, yummy bacon. Of course I get robbed of the grease, which could be used to make the most awesome food in existence, "fried bread". Sorry waffles make mayhem. Likely the best approach (and mostly followed by people if you ignore some snark, and we can work on cutting that back, too). I simply don't see any content dispute we could resolve since Rob is just repeating his little lies ("LA Times says that Lipson is the founder of RW!" for example) over and over again while at the same time hoping to pick up candid remarks he can twist for his own purposes. I can understand Papa November being wary, but that doesn't mean that he's 100% right in his recommendations. Rob is trolling too much (and offering too little in the Solid Argument department) for regular dispute resolution, but isn't (apparently) trolling enough to get his ass handed to him by an admin - which I find quite surprising and disappointing. Trus me - is factual - all physics breaks down at the singularity because the singualrity, like the primoridal atom of the early big bang theory, contains the laws and dimensions. The idea that the universe started as a singularity is now fairly old hat. It harks backs as early as pre-big bang (though progenitor to the big bang) idea of a "primordial atom". The singularity was an idea to describe the pre-bang state. An "atom" (or state if you will) wherein all laws and dimensions were intertwined, to be released as a "big bang". Inflation theory does away with this ideal so the singularity has fallen out of favour as a big bang beginning point. However, as with inflation and with the singularity, the laws of physics are always thought to have existed (in this universe - however defined). Indeed, they are the watchmaker. Wiki tools for web pages

You mentioned some time ago that you wished you had wiki tools for editing your website. Have you ever tried something like TiddlyWiki? You'd still probably have to upload it everytime, but it does make for a nice, self-contained platform with some wiki functions. Sadly, no. Trent does not have the RW 1 dB, and of course Colin doesn't since he disappeared into "life" shortly after registering the url. Sure wasn't me. Many of us saved "surfaces", or history-lacking last versions - my user page and talk page here both include those archives, and many userboxes here were copied en masse between the Purge and the Resurrection. It's been an interesting three years. The minor problem I have with your copies is that they lack context - previous edits and possible later edits. What's the point of this?

I don't want to get into an edit war with you. You've obviously been here much longer than I have, and you're welcome to revert any of my edits if I broke some explicit or unwritten rule that I'm not familiar with. But I'm pretty sure deleting something because it doesn't tickle your particular funny bone isn't a valid reason, especially when there's a voting system in place to let everyone judge it. If you're able to come up with something better, go ahead, but please don't simply scrap it unless you can give a reason apart from you thinking it's stupid. Again, I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, certainly not over a silly joke like that, but imposing your subjective opinion like that frankly pisses me off. When I was your age I couldn't afford my prices, either (which are reasonable for the quality of the goods).
