For busting out of retirement to run the fundraiser to save this place. Though truth be told I'm not certain why you did. I'm sure you have many better things to do and that this weird little website from the past is probably very, very low on your list of adult responsibilities. Don't get me wrong Stabby, I have a fondness for the place; but if it DID suddenly get switched off, well... I'd live. I'd have work to go to, the rent to pay, books to read. And I'd be mildly disappointed that it was gone, because when I was younger it kind of had a bit of an influence on me. In a small way the words you and other long-time editors have written here shapes the way I think about the world around me. And losing that would be a bit sad, but fuck it. It's just a silly website, at the end of the day. Nothing anyone would shed a tear over. For every good article you'd read here, you could find one that's pretty trash; for every moment of camaraderie you'd glimpse on the talk pages, you'd see a moment of utter vitriolic garbage. So like I said, I have NO idea why you would even bother to save it.

But I'm glad you did. So thanks. For everything.

Any progress since last RMF meeting?

Hello. Three of us had another meeting earlier in April, though little came of it. We wondered, any progress with what you'd brought up in the meeting before that? Ah, sorry I missed that meeting. I forgot to put it in my calendar.

Unfortunately, Trent has still not responded to my email about reactivating the Foundation's Google email accounts. Without the official treasurer email, I have no way of knowing what the IRS's ruling of our nonprofit status is, or even logging into the Foundation's bank account! (I really hope it's just a matter of access to the email inbox. If the inbox itself has entirely ceased to exist, then the IRS ruling will have been delivered straight into the void, our nonprofit status forever in doubt because of it.) I think the board should look into ways of removing Trent from the loop. I have had a couple of stints on the board years ago - and even then there were problems with important things not being signed or actioned by Trent.
