Benjamin Wiker (1960–) is a Roman Catholic author and intelligent design advocate.

Biography[edit]

Wiker holds a Ph.D. in Theological Ethics from Vanderbilt University, and is a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute.[1] He is best known for his book The Darwin Myth: The Life and Lies of Charles Darwin (2009).[2] He is the co-author with Jonathan Witt of a book advocating intelligent design, Meaningful World: How the Arts And Sciences Reveal the Genius of Nature (2006) and has written another book arguing against atheism, Answering the New Atheism: Dismantling Dawkins' Case Against God (2008).

Evolution[edit]

Unlike most intelligent design advocates Wiker claims to accept common descent. He has written that he supports a form of theistic evolution based on the belief that God created the world to evolve and is guiding evolution.[3] However Wiker has used straight forward creationist arguments in some of his books.
