I'm thinking about getting the band back together

I'm on a mission from god.

"Shut up, Brx."02:06, 3 November 2015

Did you like B5:Crusade? Gary Cole is one of my favorite actors. Have you tried any of the Babylon 5 novels? Are they any good? What does Nx mean? Anything to do with this? Dude, talk to me. I'm bored. Pls?

"Shut up, Brx."08:45, 9 February 2014

wo, sigs work in LQT. I wonder if that means anything. Say, what do you do for a living? Also, I noticed that your email is active here. Does that mean I can send you inane messages from time to time? Don't be surly!

"Shut up, Brx."08:46, 9 February 2014

LQT and recent changes

Would it be possible to make it so LQT posts show up on recent changes all under a single tab for each thread? That way, if this discussion reached a million and a half posts, instead of clogging up recent changes, each post in the thread would appear under the tab Thread:User talk:Nx/LQT and recent changes. Then the tab could be opened or collapse just like with enhanced recent changes, where all edits to a same article are under the same tab.

This would effectively eliminate LQT's primary weakness. Could you, David Gerard, and tmt cook something up?

"Shut up, Brx."01:07, 2 January 2013

Nx no longer has server access, one. (You should ask Pi, I heard he has server access. *trollface*) Two, aren't you just asking for an enhanced-RC-friendly LQT?

Blue (is useful)10:47, 25 January 2013

Pretty much. Do you think it's possible? I asked Nx because I know Nx better than David Gerard, and he's far more knowledgeable than anyone when it comes to liquid threads.

"Shut up, Brx."17:30, 25 January 2013

I've never seen the code for enhance RC. If you found it for me I'd happily take a look, but the chances are slim anyone could do what you're asking.

I'm quite willing to let my sysopship go. Some people clearly don't trust me (some probably never have), so for the sake of avoiding an HCM, I'm willing to pass on it.

I would take my sysop rights away, but I can't do that.

ʤɱ{{User:UHM/sig/isms| 20:49, 27 October 2012

There's no point playing martyr. They're too stupid to get the point. I'd keep the sysopship, in case you get harrassed with abusive blocks

-- Nx / talk20:52, 27 October 2012

As an HCM brx-style with wheel warring would cause more distress to me than having the rights gives me, I'm being the egocentric ass and letting them go. No kidding, that's my reasoning.

I don't care.

Acei920:32, 27 October 2012

Maybe he wants to lose his sysop rights for good this time.

"Shut up, Brx."20:33, 27 October 2012

Go for it, Brx. Good luck.

...does the red button on Capturebot2's userpage do? I'm tempted to click it.

Andynot Schlafly19:34, 25 October 2012

It blocks the bot's user account. Don't do it.

-- Nx / talk edit00:51, 14 October 2012

Did we pass?

Sprocket J Cogswell (talk)00:53, 14 October 2012

No. I edited my sig, and it doesn't show up on recent changes or the post's history, only on the page history, and even there it says comment text edited. At least I've discovered a way to get the original sig back (in the lqt style page history), but it's not obvious and I don't think you can get the wiki source.

-- Nx / talk00:55, 14 October 2012

Oh, well... I'm not bothered. While I'm still getting a pulsing circle while typing this, the whole LQT experience seems to be proceeding at an acceptable pace, much more lively than before.

Sprocket J Cogswell (talk)00:59, 14 October 2012

Well, we now know the solution to the circle problem, hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

-- Nx / talk00:59, 14 October 2012

Aargh. Refreshing the page in ancient firefox on antique fedora causes the most recent thread to disappear. That's another one of the reasons I've been avoiding talk pages with LQT.

Carry on, you're far better equipped to deal with this than most of us, I suspect.

Sprocket J Cogswell (talk)01:03, 14 October 2012

I also notice that visiting an LQT page often lights up my system monitor, indicating that some script may be hogging cycles on me local machine.

Sprocket J Cogswell (talk)01:05, 14 October 2012

... but that's not happening now. Big old head-scratch here.

The Elliott Argument

Can you please delete that essay sir? It doesn't belong on Wikipedia and it doesn't belong anywhere. If we let him be by himself, eventually he'll go away and the world will be a better place.

76.73.41.174 (talk)18:39, 10 October 2012

Unilaterally deleting the essay would just add more drama. Ignore it and it'll die.

Mongoletsi (talk)23:33, 10 October 2012

-- Nx / talk23:41, 10 October 2012

Don't you feel just totally humiliated and owned like a chump, Nx? You sound pretty blasé about the whole thing. lol.

Next time, let me handle him. My life hasn't had enough fear stabbed into it by the unstoppable Creationist cannons of the mighty Elliot Argument as it crushes atheists under its holy treads! Olé olé olé!

Really? Were they empty votes or actual votes? I hope they were empty, because the otherwise would be messed up

User:Brxbrx/sig11:11, 7 July 2012

It was a protest? That's weak, man. A post hoc justification is always weak. If you want to make some sort of statement, you make it before you wiki-breaking actions.

"Shut up, Brx."13:38, 3 August 2012

Capturebot seems broken by the maintenance

I'm not sure if it's capturebot's fault or changes Toulouse made, but it doesn't successfully manage to get images up to the wiki. I poked it a bunch to try and work out what was going on, in case this helps. It will happily listen for its console, however, so I know it's online.

Ochotonaprincepsnot a pokémon22:32, 22 July 2012

I will look into it.

Tmtoulouse (talk)22:34, 22 July 2012

The pywikipediabot script probably needs to be updated. The config needs to be changed (you have to explicitly specify the version of MediaWiki of the wiki the bot is running on, which is stupid because it can detect the correct version and it complains if it's not the same in the config, but whatever).

-- Nx / talk06:37, 23 July 2012

If your willing to offer some advise

With addMessages removed what should I look at for a replacement for the custom names?

Tmtoulouse (talk)22:20, 22 July 2012

Create an i18n file just like you would for an extension, and then use Manual:$wgExtensionMessagesFiles - I think that should work, as far as I can tell, the array key is not used at all, so it can be anything you want as long as it doesn't conflict with others.

Did you get my last message?

If you had voted as one person, would it have changed the results of the election?

sterilesporadic heavy hitter12:51, 11 July 2012

Just wondering if someone else was supposed to be a mod because of your admitted slimeballedness.

Did how your socks vote change the course of the election compared to if you had cast one ballot?

sterilesporadic heavy hitter16:07, 10 July 2012

Are you going to answer the question or ignore it?

sterilesporadic heavy hitter20:48, 10 July 2012

Mr. the wiki-wiz

I have a question regarding the wikimedia commons bug. Would it be possible to have a bot regularly purge all commons files used on this wiki? Would it be effective? Thanks for any insight

User:Brxbrx/sig06:17, 6 July 2012

Also, how do I add a frame with a caption without making it a thumbnail and still being in charge of the size? I tried on my user page but to no avail.

User:Brxbrx/sig12:12, 8 July 2012

Your sock voting has been extremely helpful.

AceThe Rep Grows Bigger21:36, 7 July 2012

I've nominated you for moderator; please go here to accept or decline.

Blue (is useful)04:23, 14 June 2012

Why? Frankly, I don't understand why you still bother with this shithole. Let the drunken potheads have their fun, there are more worthwhile things to do.

-- Nx / talk07:12, 14 June 2012

For someone who has ceased to bother with the s***hole, you certainly make a lot of anonymous posts on the s***hole's talk-pages.

Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX07:17, 14 June 2012

ListenerX, you don't like cursing? Is that an asatru thing or a personal preference?

Or... Are you being IRONIC? Like a hipster?

User:Brxbrx/sig07:25, 14 June 2012

In my religion, a curse is what you put on someone when you want them to die. Scatological swear words are a different animal entirely: they just have to be used less than three times in each sentence, as is the fashion these days, if you want them to retain any of their shock value.

Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX07:32, 14 June 2012

So you find cussing distasteful, or do you find it blasphemous? Is this less than three times thing a tenet of your religion or a truism of yours?

User:Brxbrx/sig07:37, 14 June 2012

I hope you change your mind and come back, Nx.

Hey Nx, how far back do your checkuser logs go back? May 2011 perhaps?

DMorris2 (talk)00:57, 24 January 2012

We don't have check user.

Only Trent can look at the server logs, since Nx relinquished his access.
