I seem to remember you talking about Sherlock
Have you seen "The Hounds of Baskerville?"

My impression was that while almost nothing made logical sense, the throwbacks to the original were interesting and Gatiss' writing was riveting. And I teared up at "I don't have friends. Just the one." |
Ah, to be an American who watches more BBC than homegrown television... it can get lonely.
I'll have to watch it again to comment on the logical sense. They tend to make more sense the second time.
I really just watch Sherlock for the characters, not the mystery. I mean, "The Blind Banker's" plot was moved forward entirely by semi-random coincidences.
But the dialogue is fantastic, and it can be hilarious.
Yeah, I thought The Blind Banker was the weakest one... although the weakest Sherlock is still orders of magnitude better than the best thing of most series. It's actually quite tedious as a plot by comparison to others. Perhaps it might be a middle-episode thing because I can see Baskerville being the weakest of the second series - it seemed to spend too long pretending it was a horror film, so like the other one the plot was a little tedious in places.
But as a character led thing, OMFG there is nothing better out there. Game of Thrones might compete with it in that respect, though.
Agree 100%, and it seems like Series 2 is mirroring 1 in terms of pacing and development, including (presumably) bringing in Moriarty as the main villain for the third episode. I am nervous about The Reichenbach Fall though, since Moffat/Gatiss have proven quite a maverick team. If he dies I won't be able to, at all.
Game of Thrones might just be the only better character-led drama than Sherlock on currently, but as always, YMMV... Game of Thrones probably wins due to sheer number of characters.
Martin Freeman wants to do more, but remember that Sherlock was killed off in the books, and I'm sure they'll want to start Series 3 bringing him back in style.

^^Inside each of us is a brain-damaged thirteen-year-old, waiting to be let out.
Not brain damaged. Just been locked in the cellar for too long.
13 year olds don't have the patience to 'wait,' anyway.
You kids and your remakes. Watch a real Sherlock Holmes series.
So you don't deny being thirteen years old? Frightening.
John and Sherlock finally get it on.
What? The BBC does porn now?
Here's the text of the series of messages I sent to a friend upon finishing the episode; I think it sums it up nicely:
JUST FOR YOU <name>. I'M NOT DEAD JUST FOR YOU.

You are strange.
AHAHAHAHAHA! That sounds oddly enough exactly what I got as a text from my friends. ...It must be a good show.
It's what the mental reaction of every Sherlockian would be translated to a text-based medium. You've got to watch it. It's almost my favorite show ever (Doctor Who beats it by a slim margin).
Doctor Who I've watched bits and pieces of it, but I do enjoy it! But yes, the majority of people I know has watched Sherlock Holmes, and I get text-'squeeeeeee's of joy every so often about the show as well as "WATCH IT SO WE CAN SQUEE TOGETHER! OR ELSE I KEEL YOU"...
Deranged fans? We've got 'em. Really, being a fan of any Steven Moffat-led show is an exercise in constant give-and-take, as Moffat is one of the best showrunners and writers around but a MASSIVE TROLL OF HIS FANS FOREVER.
DERANGED INDEED. Hahahaha. But to each their own, I suppose. Although, I always feel a bit uncomfortable when some of my friends tell me to draw fanart of their 'OTP'. Thaaaat's when I back off. Especially on the smut.
I don't think you can compare it to Doctor Who. But then again, I've never been enamoured with it, all cheap special effects mediocre acting (compared to Sherlock) and the Doctor pulling plot coupons out of his arse whenever they're written into a corner. Maybe I've just missed the decent episodes.
They kind of missed a trick with not having the phrase "no shit, Sherlock" appear somewhere.
Doctor Who gave us Amy Pond. Everything else is forgiven.
I must admit, I do like the humour in Sherlock - Watson's "I had bad days!" line in ep 2 made me laugh. Good to see it doesn't take itself seriously. Then again, with one of the League of Gentlemen doing the writing, what would you expect?
Also, excellent to see Idris Elba getting the Globe for Luther. Now there's a damn fine copper show.,
