MKULTRA

MKULTRA (or MK-ULTRA) was a secret CIA program to research mind-control and chemical weapons/interrogation tools via the use of drugs such as LSD. Started in 1953 by then CIA director, Richard Helms, the MKULTRA project dosed thousands of suspecting (such as Ken Kesey and Ted Kaczynski) and unsuspecting people, including foreign nationals, with drugs in effort to find to find either an interrogation or mind control weapon. The project soon spiralled out of control, reports state that the CIA agents involved in the project were not only holding private LSD parties but were also dosing each other with drugs in the office. One such agent, Frank Olson, lept to his death from a 13th floor hotel window after receiving an LSD cocktail.

Due to the controversial nature of the program, it was soon latched upon to hyperbolic extent by idiots
