A psychic is a person that claims some sort of super natural or paranormal ability to receive or interpret information in a way that normal people cannot and that empirical evidence cannot detect. Psychics come in many flavors, claiming a range of abilities such as:talking to the dead, seeing the future, talking to animals, remote viewing of rooms or landscapes, offering mystical insight into peoples lives, reading auras, reading tarot cards and more. No psychic ability has ever been demonstrated to work. There is zero non-anecdotal evidence that there is anything going on here other than basic magic and conjuring tricks mixed with a bit of basic psychology. Many psychics rely on the same basic techniques such as cold reading and warm reading to make their victims think they can do something. Instead these tricks use well understood naturalistic psychological manipulations to create a false sense in the intended victim's mind of a "psychic reading."
