Template:AOTW Navigation Add your snarkilicious take on some of the more WTF or egregious blog entries out there. Be sure to link to the entry, at the very least.
Same rules as WIGO CP. New items at the top.
Voting helps people find the best entries over at Best of the clogosphere.
Always be wary of Poe's Law, if something seems too outrageous to be true fortunately it often is. If you see an entry that you think is questionable use {{poe}}.
What is going on?
April 2010
7 | Volcanic ash will make Europe less environmentally conscious and more right wing (I think that is what he is trying to say.) |
6 | Jinx, the hard working blogger. After 3 months of nothing, copies a news article and Wikipedia article, pastes it together and calls it a blog post. |
12 | Kent Hovind is talking to fossils. |
14 | You Fail Astronomy Forever. |
10 | Australopithecus Sediba is not the missing link, because of, um ... ,ah lets see, um,...Piltdown man! |
17 | "God answers Obamacare? Volcano halts air traffic." |
16 | Another Christian music star says "Yep, I'm a gay." In response, the leading anti-gay-Christian website (yes, of course there are websites dedicated to opposing gay Christians) is now upset at the entire Christian pop/rock music scene. |
2 | The BNP are known to be very much against immigration. Except in certain circumstances. Circumstances such as the immigrants being white. |
4 | Apparently Kick-Ass doesn't include enough social comment, character development or clever satire for one reviewer. And following several comments to the tune of "that's hardly the point" and "get over yourself", the Mail is no longer accepting comments. |
4 | Volcano erupts in Iceland - therefore I must find a way to use this to attack Gordon Brown! |
11 | Christians deserve special consideration for their beliefs in front of the law - of course, it should be noted that these statements supposedly made by Lord Carey aren't entirely true, and just currently speculation, but that doesn't stop the Christian Legal Centre from pushing its agenda. |
9 | Hopeless bias + mild Islamophobia + incorrect translation = journalism! |
17 | Conservative writer can't synthesize information, or the irony of using an ad hominem statement as a hook. |
18 | Time for an imbecile proposition. |
9 | When it gives WND a chance to bash Obama, they are suddenly worried about Muslims. |
9 | OMG! Like, Paris Hilton totally wrote Obama's energy policy! |
12 | Australian clergy use Easter services to attack atheism, with such logically superior arguments as "Atheists hate God" and "Pol Pot was an atheist!" |
March 2010
15 | So how does WND report a story on a group of far-right Christian zealots that want to over throw the US federal government? Put it about two-thirds the way down the page (high lighted in yellow) and then dig out a four month old story about how the real terrorist are those rag-heads. |
9 | WorldNetDaily has found that one in four Americans are policing themselves against Thoughtcrimes. WND's Freedom Index plummets with too many lulz to be listed. |
13 | Obama's devious plan to steal the next election. |
21 | Yes, because the Government reforming health care is exactly like it shooting and running down protesters. |
26 | Evidence dinosaurs lived with man and went on Noah's Ark during the great flood. |
11 | Brent is pitching tv show scripts again. Don't quit your day job Redbeard. |
19 | Glenn Beck urges Christians to leave churches that preach "social justice," which in his world is (at the same time) "communism" and "Nazism." Certain evangelicals aren't too pleased. |
6 | Hillary Clinton gets a surprise presidential endorsement from Glenn Beck. |
7 | So lets get this straight. Osiris was Cain, Seth was Abel and the Egyptian priest reversed the story to control people. Makes perfect sense. Now can you whole Atlantis and the English are Canaanite thing? |
9 | Creationist Bible FAQ says: Premillennialism is "more widely held than amillennialism." Sure, fellows; sure. |
9 | Brent Bozell, a man who once attacked ABC for firing a man who declared Islam is a terror organization has become a staunch defender of the religion of peace as a means to attack those dirty liberals. |
9 | Orly Taitz to run for public office in California |
21 | Killer Whales don't kill people, not reading the Bible causes Killer Whales to kill people. Update "I didn't mean that we should stone everyone to death, just kill the fucking whale!" |
11 | Obama's Science Czar's shocking communist connections, he was on the board of an international journal 40 years after it was founded by Soviet sympathizers. h/t to WND |
20 | America has been cursed by God for giving money to foreigners. His punishment? Obama's death panels. |
February 2010
-3 | Think Obama is arrogant? That's rayciss! |
5 | The American Family Association's news website, OneNewsNow shows their knowledge of geography. Just a hint - Mosul is in Iraq. |
9 | As even the GOP begins to see sense, Farah stands, screaming into the face of reason and tolerance, "I would suggest to you that at least 90 percent of Americans reject same-sex marriage." Can we have a citation for that? |
23 | Farah, did you ever consider that the confusion could be caused by the fact nobody else uses your simplistic view of left-right politics? |
15 | "Evolutionism: the dying West's science of magic and madness." Who knew that secularism and rationalism are forms of "animism"? |
11 | Conservative hypocrisy has reached new levels, with theocrats calling for religious liberty and torture-supporters calling for the "rule of law". |
10 | Breaking news: The secular world is on the verge of admitting the veracity of Genesis, because historians refer to the ancient civilisations around Israel by the same names used in the Bible. Circular logic much? |
7 | Apparently Glenn Beck is being politically correct. |
12 | If scientists don't know what it is, it must be a sign from God. |
12 | Please meet blogger James I. Nienhuis. He hasn't been blogging much in the last month, but his last post Christendom Preachers Pastors Christian Lay People Asleep Wheel Ignore Darwinian Attacks Veracity Genesis Scriptural Inerrancy Not Defended Historical Account Torah Doubted Treated Lightly Quaint Fairie Tales Believers Story Adam Jesus Revelation When Will Evangelists Pulpits America Wake Up Academic Intellectual Onslaught Christian Holy Writ?, should give you plenty to read - even if all you read is the title. Update Our Joycean blogger is back from his Sabbatical Dancing, plus we get a mention. |
5 | First there was the birthers; now there is the paycheckers. Clinton is ignoring the "plain and unambiguous" constitutional provision: "No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office." |
8 | Birchers say that serving in the military is a privilege not a right. |
13 | Because WND was not making enough from advertising, shilling its own books, and it "exclusive" subscription only G2 Bulletin; WND is now going to sell the crap they give away for free, in a weekly form. |
18 | CMI just keeps excreting it. Not only do they think that the idea of a "living constitution" has something to do with evolution theory, but they complain that the Nazis did not believe in the traditional concept of God-given human rights. Heard of the divine right of kings, fellows? |
Egregious sources
List all your favorite small-time local blogiots main addresses, etc., here.
- Denyse O'Leary, who runs multiple IDiot blogs and cross-links them to pretend it's a movement.
- No Shoes or Shirt Required is written by a Southern-fried little hate monger with a (virtual) hard-on for "Darwinists" and Homosexuals. Specializing in simple lies for simple people, quote mining, and hate speech disguised as God's love, this blog is sponsored by the online version of a Norfolk, Virginia local paper, because they like to broadcast their bigotry down in the Bible Belt.
- Five Feet of Fury, a comments-free Canadian hard right blog, run by an unemployed woman who thinks hoaxing Jews by claiming to be a Holocaust victim is hilarious. But hey, she doesn't think the Nazis were really responsible either, so how stable can she be?
- Small Dead Animals, allegedly "the best Canadian blog" (2007) another unpleasant Canadian woman .
- Rachel Marsden's Daily Drive-by. Sometimes called the "Canadian Anne Coulter" (mostly by herself). Better known for (i) falsely accusing a swimming instructor of rape; and (ii) sleeping with Jimmy Wales whilst trying to make her Wikipedia biography more favorable and then (after getting dumped on Wikipedia) trying to sell his clothing on eBay.
- Mesopotamia West, run by a 67-year-old Conservative who gets off on his own poor smut and really doesn't like people from other countries.
- Answers in Genesis' own journal, Answers Research Journal
- A lovely Australian biologist, Christian, and creationist.
- Shock and Blog, the ramblings of a part-time anti-semite, one-time CP sysop, full-time moron called Jinxmchue. WARNING: Direct links to "Shock and Blog" from RationalWiki are redirected to goatse. Please format all links to Jinx's blogs like the link in this entry to circumvent this.
- The REAL Jesusland, loony Christian-related stuff from (Oh no! Not again!) Jinxmchue. WARNING: Direct links to "The REAL Jesusland" from RationalWiki are redirected to goatse. Please format all links to Jinx's blogs like the link in this entry to circumvent this.
- Coast-to-coast-am's news ticker could practically just be copied here.
- Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Encyclopedia - just hit "random page"...
- GrasstopUSA - Whilst sometime their guest commentator is good their "exclusive commentary" by Don Feder (who?) is always prime quality clogo. While you are there don't forget to ask Chris to send your "50 Blast Fax" for $50 (they use to be $20 InstaFaxes) you just need a major credit card.
- American Family Association Action Alerts - these are always stupid, but sometime they out class themselves in demanding apologies for trivialities. Be sure to send your personal outrage in the form of a form letter (at least they don't charge you).
- Creation Science Evangelism God talks to America's favorite tax fraudfeasor.
- Science and Math Defeated
- The American View: Originally set up as a part of Michael Peroutka's 2004 presidential campaign, now effectively the personal bullhorn of a hyper-Calvinist crank named John Lofton, who gets a sub sandwich for $6.66 and concludes that the end of the world is at hand. [1]
- Holy plan - A staggeringly immature blog, by man in his 20s. If you can't stand the excessive use of lol, especially when used as a debating point, as in "scientist think they do science, lol they are wrong", this blog will cause you major cardiac problems.
- James Edwards: The Rise of Ethnopolitics — "Conservatism is dead. Liberalism has no answers. What comes next? The rise of ethnopolitics."
- Cao's (pronounced Key's) blog - A right-wing, pro-military, al-Qaida conspiracy theorist, married woman. Has been used by Ken for source material.
- WomanTalk -Sharon Hughes and friends (i.e. right wing fundies}
- Ladies Against Feminism: Housewives who somehow find time off from their busy schedule of skivvy duty to rant on the website about how "Christ is the head of the man and man is the head of the woman" and emphasize that "Biblical womanhood is not a 'white thing.'"
- David Klinghoffer's blog is bound to have an anti-Darwinist screed on it.
- Save the Males - Rantings about Zionists, Illuminati and feminist.
- Atheism is Dead — an anti-atheism blog featured on the front page of Conservapedia on August 8, 2009.
- Dancing from Genesis - YEC blog that has really, really long entry titles.
- Seriously Pissed - Long-winded rantings of a very angry old white man.
