I think we're misunderstanding each other. I don't want to sugarcoat or euphemize the WIGO. But putting up "Hitchens is dead" and asking people to vote up or down is confusing at best.
It might be wise for us to not use vote tags on some WIGOs.
The "no vote tags on sad/difficult/tragic WIGOs" is something I'm in complete agreement with you about. Workarounds that involve weasel-y language, less so.

I have often wondered about that - when someone wigo's "Crazy fucker shoots loads of people somewhere" do you vote up or down?
