Why?

Isn't the page called Murphy's Law? Why so many of other people's laws? Especially since some already have their own page. Thunderkatz^Ho! 11:45, 23 September 2007 (EDT)

Wiki refers to them as adages, but I don't know how widespread that term is - I hadn't heard it before. --AKjeldsen^Godspeed! 13:45, 23 September 2007 (EDT)

Based on my mastery of vocabulary I'd say adage is an appropriate term. ^Me!Sheesh!_Mine! 17:58, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Does maxim work any better? In my brainiac wetware thesaurus "adage" connotes a mix of prescription and observation, while "maxim" is more about prescription... Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 18:39, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Move?

Sod's LAw

Are Murphy's law and Sod's Law the same basic thing, or is there a notable difference? If not, then a redirect for Sod's law should arrive here. SJ ^Debaser 19:58, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

I think "sod's law" is just a colloquial expression of the same thing. I used to think that "Murphy's" was the mathematical model that proved it, but I'm pretty sure they're actually exactly the same same. ^moral 19:49, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
