I have a jar of bacon drippings. Great for making sure that I'll always have acne and smell like smoked meat.
When i was a little girl, mom would drain off the bacon drippings like you mention, nutty. then make the damned best white gravy in teh world. biscuits and gravy. we were poor - but the food was tasty!
