Remember when we considered "censoring" the RW logo for SOPA?
Oh, stop overreacting. SOPA is a terrible law in every way, but whether it's passed or not won't effect RationalWiki at all.
We've been accused of copyright infringement to censor a few of the side-by-side articles. If people then have legal backing to take that out against the site itself and the RWF's ability to fund it, it would be very bad indeed.
Remember that the entire point of copyright is to defend people against having their intellectual property used, abused and sold without their consent or compensation - but it's very often been used as a tool for censorship too. An alarming proportion of DMCA claims are used this way, and that just removes the content.
Slacktivism =/= protest. Write a letter or call your congressperson if you haven't.
