Conservative?[edit]

I disagree. They should be labeled as moderates. Talsley (talk) 20:24, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

There are several people here on the Wiki who think Obama is a conservative, and some do not even live in Europe. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 20:28, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
I'll pray for them. Talsley (talk) 20:29, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

All wrong and needs a complete rewrite[edit]

"Blue Dogs are noted for promoting fiscal conservatism (balanced budgets, tax reductions, decreased spending, smaller government) while being otherwise socially liberal." - not always true. Many of the Blue Dogs are also social conservatives who vote liberal only on labor union, trade and corporate regulation issues. "They tend to be the first to recommend reductions in the largest cash gluttons, namely military spending and oil tax subsidies." - Blue Dogs tend to be pro-military spending. "In the 80s, Blue Dogs and those who identified with their ideologies were helpful in getting Ronald Reagan elected" - the Blue Dog Coalition was founded after the 1994 Republican sweep and did not exist in the 1980s. You're thinking of the old caucus of residual southern Democrats called Boll Weevils who voted in a bloc with Republicans to enact most of Reagan's first term agenda. The Blue Dogs are not as conservative as the Boll Weevils, and most of the Boll Weevils either retired or switched parties by the late 1980s. Secret Squirrel (talk) 01:11, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
