New logo large.png Your welcome to RationalWiki is lukewarm at best, Rose Pedals.

This observation is due to the nature of your initial edits. Pull up a goat and try not to make trouble.

We realize it is possible that you do not understand the nature of the site or our objectives.

Hi Rose Pedals. I'm afraid that your "Charles Darwin was a sock of Hitler" edit caught you a block. Shame really, because it was almost funny. Anyway, if you want to play nice please have a look at our RationalWiki:Newcomers' guide.--Bobbing up 13:26, 10 December 2008 (EST)

I've also put you into the vandal group which will mean that your editing abilities will be somewhat limited after your block is up. If you wish to participate more fully and productively and in the wiki please leave a note on any active sysop's user page. --Bobbing up 13:31, 10 December 2008 (EST)

Very effective. Dynamic IP tell you anything? Don't worry, I'm off to find a community with a sense of humor. --79.50.232.71 13:45, 10 December 2008 (EST)

I you put something - anything on your User Page, then your name will appear in blue instead of red and you will immediately gain 37% more approval. Carptrash 16:44, 10 December 2008 (EST)
Hi Rose if you wish to make sensible edits you will be more than welcome. If you do not, then people may react negatively. I told you why you were blocked and and put in the vandal bin. I also told you what you could do about it and directed you to more information about the site. You used a proxy (I think) to complain to a sysop and and you were freed up. So the system works. As I said, if you want to follow the rules then you should have no problems.--Bobbing up 16:57, 10 December 2008 (EST)
Yeah, one sysop unblocked me, and then I was immediately blocked again by another sysop just for thanking the first sysop. That's one nicely working system. Feel free to block me again, I really don't feel like taking part in a community that is so insanely paranoid that one harmless joke edit earns you a one year block, in blatant disregard of anything your own rules say. This is every bit as insane as CP. Not a fun community by any stretch of the immagination. --Rose Pedals 17:15, 10 December 2008 (EST)
FWIW, I'd say the one year thing was waaaay out of proportion, and it's no surprise it got undone pretty quick. Dunno about the second one, but it sounds like a mistake on someone's part. I think we were in the middle of another attack by Fred clones or something, so maybe someone got a bit overenthusiastic. On the other hand, if I had a nickle for every time we've been told we're just as bad as CP, I'd have a whole lotta nickles right now. Heck, I'd probably have about $20 from TK alone. --Kels 17:43, 10 December 2008 (EST)
and you probably don't even have to follow the rules that closely if you are not a jerk.about it. Carptrash 17:03, 10 December 2008 (EST)

" Not a fun community by any stretch of the imagination. I could not have said it better myself, tho I would have said it differently by using my spellcheck before posting. It's considered good manners here. See, (opinion) there is nothing rational about having FUN. It's a feeling thing and these folks need all the help that they can get in that arena. So if you really have FUN to share, then do so. But comparing Darwin to Hitler is a CP (not communist party) move, much like walking into the Vatican and expecting them to enjoy your art pieces of the Virgin Mary floating in urine or a Cross made out of dung. Play to your audience and these folks can be okay. Otherwise, it's no laughing matter. Carptrash 17:38, 10 December 2008 (EST)

Picking at other people's spelling is a great argument, now where have I seen that before... but I'm afraid the irony of this will be lost on you, too... --Rose Pedals 17:44, 10 December 2008 (EST)
Or was my attempt at humor lost on you? We will probably never know. However I am willing to explain my joke if you explain the irony. Let me guess. You are so poor that your computer does not have spell check? You won the National Spelling Bee three times in a row, but since your head injury . . .? What? Carptrash 17:47, 10 December 2008 (EST)
Can we lay off the argumentum ad spellingum? Rose feels bad about how she's been treated (and i can't say i blame her) and silly remarks about spelling aren't going to win her over. Rose, please give us another chance. When you joined we were under attack by an idiot signing in with several usernames and you got caught in the middle of it all. I'm sorry that happened. Stick around and you'll see this can be a good place - although what Carptrash says about playing to the audience (ie the left/liberal-pro-science stance, but with goats) is about right. Clean slate?[edit]

Sorry about you being caught in some crossfire by an overzealous Defender of the Embattled Wiki.
