A summary, for those who wished to know the source of the drama: MarcusCicero asked me why I was a virgin. I told him. Some discussion ensued, I got a little embarassed, and thus oversighted it all. MarcusCicero was quite butthurt that the discussion of my virginity was censored, and he decided to bring it back. I buried it again, along with hefty parts of the deletion log. Nutty Roux got butthurt, presumably brought it all back, and decratted me (because removing bits of my talk page stabs painfully at his heart).
(a) I didn't restore what you hid. Nx and MC did. (b) I don't care about your personal life. I do care about people abusing Hide Revision. We don't have a lot of rules otherwise. That one's easy to follow now that you know. Just stop bing so recalcitrant about it. (c) I didn't decrat you, I desysopped you. Nx restored your rights pretty soon thereafter after leaving you instructions for using Hide Revision, which is six of one and one half of the other since I told you I'd restore your rights after you acknowledged reading the sysop manual and Nx's instructions are actually better. (d) Saying stuff like you hiding things on your talk page stabs painfully at my heart or leaves me butthurt isn't true or supported by the evidence, as my involvement in all this was minimal, and it just pisses me off. I desysoped you briefly and told you about a rule. That's it. I don't know why you're fixated on me but I'll be right there to humiliate and bully you if you lie about me, shit talk me, or want me involved in your tantrum. Cheers. Foucault.[edit]

I'm re-reading DandP, History of Sexuality, Power/Knowledge and the Foucault Effect (alongside Hardt and Negri and Bayart) for a section in my comprehensive exams about governmentality and colonial rule. Got any other recommendations for me? P-Foster (talk) 01:08, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

I dropped out of high school. Most of what I know of Foucault I learned in speech and debate, before I dropped out. I've never read any of his books. I've only a basic understanding of biopolitics. I have a fascination with him and some of his ideas, but my comprehension is very limited. All I can do to help you is provide crude summaries of certain philosophical theories.

Actually, you've just given me the idea of trying to convince my parents to pay for a university education in philosophy, but I sincerely doubt they'll buy it, seeing as how they already paid for my education in massage therapy and will be paying for my education in assistant nursing. Actually, they've been paying for pretty much everything for two years, now, since I turned 18 and moved out with the foolish belief that I could make it on my own (3 months later I'm out of money). So convincing them to fork it over for a university education in what can be considered a useless major is a likely impossible feat. And, though I did quite well on my GED exam, I don't know if I can qualify for a university (although the university nearest to me, Arizona State University, is known for its lax admission standards). So that dream died as soon as it came up. But you did give me a glimmer of hope for about 10 seconds. Thank you for that.--brxbrxbrxbrxbrxbrx-brxbrx 01:22, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Hey, I started my BA when I was 35 at a university with incredibly lax admission standards; now I'm doing a fully-funded Ph.D. at a top-ranked school. It's never too late -- don't give up on the dream. And READ some Foucault, along with as many of the other formative thinkers of the last century and a half or longer -- it's the only way to deal with them. P-Foster (talk) 01:26, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
I feel a little better now.--brxbrxbrxbrxbrxbrx-brxbrx 01:28, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

With regards to[edit]

this. After careful review, I will concede that you came up with the term "Saloon Bar Putsch" afore me. But I didn't "steal" it, this is just a case of GMTA. Besides, I alluded to it rather than blundering out with the term, (I prefer subtlety, like bricks). 05:58, 20 May 2011 (UTC) C®ackeЯ

Things you can't do[edit]

You can't hide edit comments just because you've embarassed yourself by revealing a humiliating personal secret. I won't insist upon the comments being shown publically, but you can't hide the diffs. I also think I deserve a round of applause for my ability to detect virgins and aspies. MarcusCicero (talk) 21:54, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't know what you're talking about. Perhaps you could try writing an article instead of spending your time here trolling and flaming?--User:Brxbrx/sig 22:08, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
I agree with Brxbrx. MC, what in the hell do you have against virgins and aspies? The Baby Jesus loves virgins, y'know. But seriously, why are you bothering this well-intentioned editor? I mean, sure he's from ED stuff, but from what I've known of him he's a decent chap. I don't think you should bother him or discriminate him because he deviates from the typical bent of humanity, which is more savage and immoral than the path Brxbrx takes, in my humble opinion.--Colonel Sanders (talk) 22:12, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
I have nothing against him, just that he is a nerd bereft of wit, much intelligence, and/or self awareness of his limitations. And he is intensely boring. MarcusCicero (talk) 22:22, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Meh, sorry for blocking you without the full story (not that it really has effects on Sysops). But what is it with him saying he's being discriminated based on his sexuality?--Colonel Sanders (talk) 22:25, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Are you on meth or something? Since when is being a virgin a 'sexuality'? I'm not doing anything wrong, he is the guy who gets a hard on by censoring community information and generally acting like an idiot. MarcusCicero (talk) 22:26, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

No, just been hit in the head too many times. I was just mentioning his allegations. I definitely am against censoring community information and that was a giant misstep for the gent. And being a virgin is not a sexuality per se, but it is generally frowned upon in society for some odd reason. So, what about discrimination, eh?--Colonel Sanders (talk) 22:33, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
ah, yes, community information. whether or not I'm a virgin and why. funny how you complain about srs bzness only when it suits you. Then again, that's why you're here. to troll.--User:Brxbrx/sig 22:29, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
And why are you here exactly? That was the broad thrust of my question. You seem to have taken the worst aspects of your real life personality and superimposed them on the internet. Accept that this site embraces and welcomes freedom of thought and speech and that censorship is anathema to it. Get that, and you will survive here. If you don't, then frankly you can fuck off. MarcusCicero (talk) 22:32, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh, I also have written many articles and contributed to many more. Look at my mainspace contributions before induling in your atypical stupidity. MarcusCicero (talk) 22:24, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Indeed. 130 mainspace edits and 3 articles over the last 1260 days. Truly impressive. ТyTalk. 22:33, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Ty, sooner or later you're going to realise that making 000s of edits such as adding categorisations or correcting grammar on a website that doesn't pretend to be an encyclopedia will not compensate for your profound lack of social skills in real life. Now run off and cry, and pretend to leave and never come back (Again) MarcusCicero (talk) 22:43, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Yawn. You think that because I bother here I lack social skills. Interesting. I presume next will be accusations of Aspergers followed by remarks about virginity, and a good round of general obscenity. I've heard worse remarks from middle schoolers. You aren't original, or even interesting. You know nothing about anything useful, you are effectively a parasite, who pops in whenever there is a community crisis. You oppose all new reform, because you realize that should a coherent policy be put in place, you won't last very long. Who is really wasting their time here? I've learned a lot, I owe this site a personal debt. You? You try to insult other people on the internet. Doing a heck of a job there. You whine about authoritarianism, whilst being authoritative. Tell me, in real life do you perform a useful function? Do you have a job? Work at a charity? Volunteer? I doubt it. You will likely make some sob story, as you have in the past. You think you matter. 10 years down the line, nobody will remember me. And nobody will remember you either. ТyTalk. 22:56, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
ouchGood post!--User:Brxbrx/sig 23:07, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah Ty. Thats why you wear a hat and pose for stupid pictures on the internet. Nutty hit the nail on the head with you frankly. You have no credibility.
Seriously guys, this is like a flashmob of socially inept, easily offensible adolescents who just had their first can of Dutch Gold. MarcusCicero (talk) 23:40, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
From his edits, I could possibly see him as a teen who thinks trolling wikis is fun for some odd reason. Not that I know or even assert that, but the immaturity would point to that.--Colonel Sanders (talk) 23:00, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
MC is an Irish university student, I believe. He seldom reveals much about himself because it would lead to real connections that his trolling would then jeopardize, but a few things are obvious. He is enamored of a few particular figures in history, but has the context-less skepticism of a dilettante in the field. I will say that those traits have decreased somewhat, so I'd wager he's either graduated or advanced in a postgraduate degree of some sort. Not an autodidact.--ADtalkModerator 05:04, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Can I just say that I absolutely adore the irony of TomMoore calling me a dilettante. This, of course, from the postmodernist, the most dilettante of all philosophies. (Anyone can be a postmodernist, it requires very little intellectual discipline) 11:14, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

It's a gross abuse of community trust to do that. Especially since you're just covering up shit that's just embarrassing but not personal identifying information. Stop it. Nutty Roux (talk) 22:15, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

What is your purpose here?[edit]

What joy do you derive from this site? Why do you hold the ancient liberties of rationalwikians in such contempt? Why do you want to grant draconian powers to a new moderating class? Why do you want to persecute site dissidents? Why are you still a virgin? MarcusCicero (talk) 8:48 am, Today (UTC−4)

I am still a virgin because my appearance and personality are not up to the standard I have for women. Basically, I'm only interested in the ones that are out of my league.--User:Brxbrx/sig 9:20 am, Today (UTC−4)

"Butthurt"[edit]

You don't get it do you? What you did was an abuse of your powers and a violation of community standards. Moreover, you did it at a time when nerves are still frayed, and people are still pissed off/on edge. This isn't about personalities or people feeling "butthurt." Grow up, man. P-Foster (talk) 22:45, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

seriously? you act like I raped your mother. I oversighted some edits. I didn't delete any articles or anything, I just got rid of some dumb edits and here you are flipping out. This a talk page. The discussion here is almost completely irrelevant to the wiki's mission. Maybe I aren't supposed to use oversight to play with it, but I think you are overreacting.--User:Brxbrx/sig 22:49, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
And I don't think you get this site. Maybe now is the time where you pretend to leave and never come back, and thus try and generate some positive sympathy for yourself. MarcusCicero (talk) 22:51, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
It is generally against RW community standards to censor edits, no matter what they be.--Colonel Sanders (talk) 22:50, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
It is generally against the standards, but that does not mean it isn't done. Maybe the noobs are getting confused, because it's been going on a lot recently without much backlash. Blue (is useful) 22:53, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

RevisionDelete[edit]

  1. Only hide the edit comment when there's something in the edit comment that needs hiding.
  2. You usually don't need to hide the editor's name, and hiding it removes the edit from their contribution list, so only hide it if the editor's name needs hiding (e.g. it's an IP address)
  3. Don't hide entries in the deletion log.

I'll restore your sysop rights now. -- Nx / talk 06:13, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
