You know, when I was in high school, I really liked George Lakoff's ideas, and now you're making me feel really bad :-(

I thought you liked Lakoff. I've only read Metaphors We Live By, though, and his most recent stuff is quite obvious shilling for the DNC. He is essentially trying to become a lefty Frank Luntz and spouting pseudoscience while he's at it.

The book I read was Moral politics: What Conservatives Know that Liberals Don't. I really liked his ideas, though even at 15, I noticed how here and there he'd use wording that distinct liberal bias. (I know, duh, but I felt that if you were going to write a book intending to change how people think, you should try a bit harder to not use loaded language.)

Hum, nope, never really been a fan. I got his ideas, i understood where he was coming from, but I never felt (or maybe never understood) what was so surprising about it. Again, maybe I just didn't get it. But it felt very common sense to me.
