Besides laziness, I think some of this stuff is done just for the purpose of bunching panties.
I can't believe that article hasn't been deleted yet.
I found a new fallacy! The "Wikipedia Sharpshooter Fallacy": an editor takes a dozen random articles, finds a common thread between them, and makes a new category/"main article" on the subject.
