Your signature is an eyesore.

Your signature is an eyesore.

You are a very, very important editor on the wiki, and as such it is vital that your signature be not only larger than everyone else's, it must also be one of the largest things on every talk page. That is because your contributions are so stunningly amazing that every eye demands to be drawn to them.

Thank you for your complement. I felt it was too big though, so I made it smaller. I did see that someone made it minuscule, so I reverted it. If you think it was better, I can make it bigger again.

It's an annoying piece of shit. I've set it to something more reasonable. Have some respect for our talk pages.

Polar Bear in the Jungle Peter Tosh > Bob Marley19:13, 11 February 2013

Fear not, for my sig will always be the most annoying sig. Your sig is safe behind my behemoth monstrosity of choice.

±Knightoftldrsig.pngKnightOfTL;DRlavishly loquacious19:15, 11 February 2013

Your sig is actually quite pleasing to the eye Lady Knight; -- it's not about size, it's about size coupled with a complete absence of aesthetic consideration.

I'll work on improving it. Please maintain civility when giving advice to other users. Be aware that continued hostility toward other users may result in a block.

While that is a funny picture, some users might misinterpret it and think that you are intentionally inciting trouble. Be aware that we cannot see your body language over the internet, and so it can be easy for other users to misinterpret your actions. You should be aware that in the event of such interpretations, you will have violated civility guidelines and disciplinary action will be taken accordingly.

I hope you're joking. Are you aware that LQT is screwing with your sig all on it's own?

Peter mqzp01:24, 12 February 2013

Yeah, and I've seen that.

ఠ_ఠ [[User:Inquisitor Ehrenstein|Inquisitor Sasha Ehrenstein des Sturmkrieg S 01:25, 12 February 2013

Good, good. Why did you decide to use it then?

Peter mqzp01:26, 12 February 2013

I'm going to fix it.

One more sarcastic meme, Weaseloid, and he'll give you a thorough spanking. Don't you dare violate Wikipedia's civility guidelines.

I am referring to general civility suggestions. While that article was written at Wikipedia, it still has usefulness for promoting civility on wikis in general.

Ok, so I was acting a bit like a TOW admin.

My body language was exactly as illustrated.

I am able to see Weaseloid's body language over the internet and I can confirm that it was exactly as indicated.

After you smallened it it's still an eyesore, except now because it's too small. I have great, young eyes, and i strain to read the small text. I thought it was fine before.

(talk to a) Nihilist15:12, 13 February 2013

Is this the regular small size, or is this the vandalism that Polar Bear has been doing?

ఠ_ఠ [[User:Inquisitor Ehrenstein|Inquisitor Sasha Ehrenstein des Sturmkrieg S 18:10, 13 February 2013

Probably the latter, because it looks fine in that post.

(talk to a) Nihilist18:20, 13 February 2013

That's probably it then, because he was making it really fething small. Someone should block him for unfunny vandalism.

ఠ_ఠ [[User:Inquisitor Ehrenstein|Inquisitor Sasha Ehrenstein des Sturmkrieg S 20:00, 13 February 2013

I agree, somebody should. Also, it looks totally stupid in LQT.

Polar Bear in the Jungle Peter Tosh > Bob Marley20:02, 13 February 2013

It looks broken in LQT. Or is the [[User:Inquisitor Ehrenstein| part supposed to be visible?

Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments.20:41, 13 February 2013

No, the ector]] has been chopped off the end, ruining the link. He's lucky that it doesn't look even worse, really.

Peter mqzp20:51, 13 February 2013

@Peter, that makes sense. Is there a tighter character limit on signatures in LQT than in normal preferences?

That would appear to be the case, though I don't know for sure.

Peter mqzp20:59, 13 February 2013

My guess is that for whatever reason LQT doesn't like the <span> being used within a link. The same font formatting could be used without it being a span & it would probably work OK (like mine or yours does).

It's a simple character cutoff in the code. If he removes all the extra spaces in his style, and reduces the font size of the text and/or the smiley below 10, he might manage to get it to work.

Peter mqzp20:58, 13 February 2013

Couldn't they avoid the character cutoff in the first place by setting their signature to transclude, rather than substitute, in their signature? It's what Blue and I do.

Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments.21:03, 13 February 2013

Manually removing the "subst" from the sig part below is also an option, as is not using LQT in the first place.

Peter mqzp21:06, 13 February 2013

Copy this to your CSS page:

.sashasig {
     background: #D8D8D8;
     padding: 2px;
     color: #151515;
     font-size: 12px;
     border: 1px solid #1F1F1F;
}

If you could add a class for the eyes part of the sig too that would be most appreciated.

Peter mqzp21:18, 13 February 2013

Here's an idea, Inquisitor: you change your CSS page to prettify your own sig, just so you can see it. Don't force others to change theirs just to accommodate your eyesore of a sig.

Peter mqzp21:44, 13 February 2013

Ah. Sorry. Inquisitor had been pretty insistent about his sig, so I figured he was continuing to be as minimally accommodating as possible.

Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments.21:48, 13 February 2013

I'm pretty sure it's a plain link the way it was before.
