Why not explain Mecca in terms of its own significance instead of comparing it to Christianity - especially when the comparison is weak (Christians aren't obliged to face any particular city when they pray, or to go on a pilgrimage to that city...) PFoster 16:37, 22 July 2008 (EDT)

Well, I am sure there is some Rabbi somewhere who has actually dealt with said issue. And another Rabbi who vehemently disagrees.... But as no country seems to be close to putting people (let alone Jews) on the moon any time soon, the issue is largely academic... Aren't there also orthodox Sabbath light switches? To the basic issue of religion in space and round objects: Face Earth or your best guess as to which direction Earth is, Face mecca by imagining the stupid black square and praying in tht direction and you base time from where you launched off at, atleast if you're from Malaysia.
