Article rationale

I created this article in the belief that a record should be preserved of Conservapedia's Andrew Schlafly]'s term, Affirmative Action President.

Unfortunately, the article fomented a hysteria amongst Wikipedia's editors who, amid claims of neologism and prejudice both for and against Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama, demanded its removal. One editor interpreted it as an attack upon Conservapedia and another objected that the article promoted Conservapedia. One called it an "Attack page (for all intents and purposes). Borderline racist nonsense. Neologism. RS issues."

One has to wonder if they read the article or simply the headline.

In any case, I still believe a record should be kept of the Conservapedia article.

to me this is just more

conservative double talk. For example, the phrase " based partly or entirely on the person's race or gender. ," begs to have a discussion as to whether Geo Bush, the Great Pretender, would have been picked by the Republicans had he not been a male? Is not every Republican (and most Democrats for that matter) picked at least partly because of their gender? And now they get to deal with their own VP choice. I'd watch that article and see where it goes, if I really cared. For those actively wishing to get blocked "over there," a few well-placed edits about the Affirmative Action Vice President could well do the trick Carptrash 15:23, 29 August 2008 (EDT)

When it cuts both ways …

Today, the day Presidential candidate John McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, Conservapedia was in a dither about, you guessed it, an article, Affirmative Action Vice-President. The following was posted on the talk page:

What is the Affirmative Action Vice-President part about? That is ridiculous. She would be the first woman VP but that has nothing to do with affirmative action. Fsamuels 16:48, 29 August 2008 (EDT)

It's criticising (in an oblique way) the accusations that Obama would be the first "Affirmitive Action President". I suspect that whoever called Palin that is hoping that you will find it ridiculous and decide that the Obama accusation is similarly ridiculous. --Toffeeman 16:59, 29 August 2008 (EDT)

Organization

Can't this be rearranged into "chronological" order? The lead should state the true coining, referring to Bush, with the conservapedian deceit coming later. ħuman 17:49, 24 January 2009 (EST)
