England is one of three countries on the island of Great Britain (The other two are Wales and Scotland).

Citizens of the U.S.A., who are usually surprisingly good at world geography, sometimes have the tendency to confuse the concepts of England, Great Britain, and The United Kingdom. England is a nation, Great Britain is an island, and the U.K. is a state. Clear now?

It is known primarily for the invention of real football, its remarkably diverse cuisine^[1] (that's French for "food"), and losing the largest empire ever assembled.
