Forum:What if CP gets a lot of its data from RW...?

Well, I've been thinking lately, what if CP in fact gets most of it's info from RW but puts a conservative spin on it? I mean, they seemed to learn about TK's passing right after us and based off of some leads I've followed, the Sysops seem to frequent RW. I know correlation does not mean causation, but it's still an interesting theory. And think of the implications... >;) --At (talk) 02:15, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

... what?--MikallakiM 02:20, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
This has been going on since the very beginning. TK and Ed Poor were regulars here. SophieWilder 07:52, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Why, I bet some of them have even looked at this page! I'm going to break the fourth wall by saying 'hi sysops!'

i wonder if they have wifi where TK is. SophieWilder 13:39, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Six feet of dirt probably means bad connectivity. I've become really interested in the unhealthy relationship between RW and CP recently, could you list a few other examples, At? --TheLateGatsby (The end of the dock ) 14:03, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
We have lots of short articles on sex because of a "look at us, we're not inhibited like those awful CP puritans" attitude. likewise, CP's mathematics articles were rubbish, so people here wrote good ones. They have nothing to do with anything else. So yeah, unhealthy relationship. SophieWilder 14:40, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm detecting sarcasm. I'm not declaring a false equivalence. What I'm curious about is if At has more evidence that Conservapedia is actually doing what they suggest. --TheLateGatsby (The end of the dock ) 15:10, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
I think he could find plenty of evidence in the WIGO archives. Lots of times we mention something and a CPer corrects an article. Seemed to happen more in the first couple of years though, IIRC. SophieWilder 15:23, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
I will try that, then, thank you. --TheLateGatsby (The end of the dock ) 15:36, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
I propose an experiment to (partially) test this hypothesis. A few random users will make sock accounts on CP and make them so obviously similar to their RW accounts that the sysops will figure them out instantly. If they are banned for being socks but the person who banned them does not say who's sock it is, iris a partial confirmation. What we could also do is change a few important articles in RW and make them very distinct. Then we could monitor CP and see if anything similar comes up. I hope this will help confirm my idea.

No,thanks. TheLateGatsby (The end of the dock ) 23:20, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Do you have a better idea?

There are an unlimited number of better things to do with your time. WëäŝëïöïďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 00:08, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
Like editing RW? Sorry, I'm just bored. --At (talk) 00:54, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
I considered your idea and thought "hey, that's a good use of my time" but then boned my wife and drank a beer instead. Oh well, better luck next time. Acei9 01:22, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
It's truly amazing what inspires a happy marriage sometimes. -- Randolf
Well, I'm sorry I suggested testing my hypothesis. The sysops probably saw this page anyway and will be on high alert for a while now, so why bother?

--At (talk) 16:38, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Why bother in the first place? SophieWilder 18:39, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
Well, it would be really embarrassing for Conservapedia, but beyond that, not much value in it.
