Armageddon

In Christian mythology, the Armageddon is the term for the final battle between the forces of God and Satan. The term also refers to place at which the final eschatological battle would take place, that is, the Valley/Hill of Megiddo (הר מגידו), although it is more commonly (but slightly incorrectly) used as a Biblical term for the "Last Battle" between the forces of God and Satan.
Figuratively, any battle that would bring about the end of the world can be considered an "Armageddon." With the advent of nuclear weapons and the threat of nuclear war, this has become a real possibility, one that leaves many defense analysts awake at night.
