Theism

Theism is the belief that gods exist and are active in the universe rather than simple observers. This is in contrast to atheism and, especially, deism.

Ironically, the level of micromanagement that this would involve seems to suggest that the Universe isn't very well created, requiring constant tweaking to maintain optimum efficiency. On the other hand, this could simply be the implication that the god(s) are control freaks and like to interfere, demoting the importance of the Universe to the level of a plaything.
