I'm screaming silently now. Sterilexx 19:09, 28 February 2008 (EST)

Being anti-abortion doesn't have to be a religious issue, so showing it in class is not necessarily a violation of church and state. I haven't seen the vid though, so maybe it's overtly religious. In which case, disregard :) Lurker 19:11, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Lol! I was just going to post the same thing! More RW lunacy. Read the source given and try to find the phrase separation of church and state. TmtamesP 19:13, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Much though I hate to agree with B****n, on this occasion I do (not the lunacy bit - just a bit over enthusiastic). SusanThe Earth Moved 19:20, 28 February 2008 (EST)
I suppose there could be a context for showing the film in school, such as examination of propaganda (could be shown along with things like campaign ads from either party).-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:22, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Lol Pal. You forgot the "fascist" label :) TmtamesP 19:24, 28 February 2008 (EST)
I don't think all or even most abortion opponents are fascists, I just happen to disagree with them. I do think the folks blocking clinics and spreading disinformation are not so wonderful, although their motivations may be good. Ends do not, however, justify the means, which could also be said of those on my side of the issue. You're a fascist though.-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:28, 28 February 2008 (EST)
But what makes this film propoganda? TmtamesP 19:29, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Propaganda distorts truth in order to arouse emotions and to change people's opinions regardless of the facts. The fact is that abortion kills a fetus. The fact is that some people feel the mother's rights outweigh the fetus's. The fact is that some folks would rather kill a doctor than write letters to the editor. The fact is that Silent Scream doesn't rely on truth to sway its viewers. It resorts to lies. If you think abortion is evil, well, then to you it is, and sharing your beliefs should be enough without lying.-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:31, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Yes, but what lies does it use? How does it distort the truth? TmtamesP 19:38, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Check the refs first, then come back with Qs.-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:44, 28 February 2008 (EST)

I did check the refs. Did you? The planned parenthood one doesn't work, and the other one simply says that PP claims its full of errors. I'm skeptical. TmtamesP 19:46, 28 February 2008 (EST)

I'll try to dig up some good ones for ya.-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:46, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Please, don't bother. I don't usually concern myself with propoganda, especially PP :) TmtamesP 19:49, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Here's one, and another.-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:49, 28 February 2008 (EST)
I'm not sure how Planned Parenthood is "propaganda".-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:51, 28 February 2008 (EST)
The organization itself is not propaganda, but the materials it distributes are. TmtamesP 19:55, 28 February 2008 (EST)

Katie Roiphe? Get a neutral source. TmtamesP 19:51, 28 February 2008 (EST)

Here's a good article on PP: cp:Planned Parenthood :) TmtamesP 19:53, 28 February 2008 (EST)

Thou hast truly drunk of the Flav-R-ade.-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:55, 28 February 2008 (EST)
I've never actually read the article, I just linked to it to irratate you. Notice the ":)"? TmtamesP 19:56, 28 February 2008 (EST)
Oh my! I been pwnd by the Boh! ; ) -- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --'scuse me, while I kiss the sky 19:57, 28 February 2008 (EST)

"It's really not worth mentioning, but"[edit]

it was directed and filmed by Dr. Bernard Nathanson, who was one of the founding members of the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws, now known as NARAL Pro-Choice America. He worked with Betty Friedan and others for the legalization of abortion in the United States. Their efforts essentially succeeded with the Roe v Wade decision. He was also for a time the director of the Center for Reproductive and Sexual Health (CRASH), New York's largest abortion clinic. Absolutely not worth mentioning that it was the development of ultrasound that led him to reconsider his views on abortion. --Earthland 17:15, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Well, yeah :) Mussolini was a Socialist, Martin Luther a devout Catholic, Ronald Reagan a Democrat and head of his labor union, David Horowitz a Communist. And most of the New Testament was written by Saul of Tarsus, who was one of the founding members of the National Association to Feed Christians to the Lions. bad article[edit]

This article sucks. I've seen the film a number of times. It isn't religious and in no way violates the separation of church and state. (It shouldn't be shown to kids in public schools -- or anywhere else -- for other reasons, such as being frightening and misleading.) It was a stub before; deleting the erros and dxead link makes it even more of one. It should be deleted. But I'm not gonna fight for that. Not worth my time.---Mona- (talk) 03:09, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
