Comment from a former member[edit]

As some who was once a member of the Star Wars branch of this group, and a fan of one in particular called (I'm not making this up) "WorldClassBullshitters" I remember a few themes from their videos:

  • Referring to Solo: A Star Wars Story as "Soylo"
  • Hatred of the disney era in general, and the sequel trilogy in particular
  • Hatred of J. J. Abrams, Ryan Johnson, and Kathleen Kennedy. They refer to J. J. Abrams as Jar-Jar Abrams.
  • Calling people who like the sequel trilogy "Shills"
  • Endless chants of "Rey is a mary sue"
  • Belief that Disney sold out star wars to China.
  • Blaming the flop of Solo: A Star Wars Story on people not being woke while simultaneously insisting that Disney went woke for profit

Who exactly are fans of the sequel trilogy shilling for? Smells like a dogwhistle to me. Carthage (talk) 00:39, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
I think its insinuating that no one is "really" a fan of the sequel trilogy, they're just being paid. Ioe bidome (talk) 00:41, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
Oh, also, I would absolutely not be surprised if some of these Fandom menace guys refer to J. J. Abrams as "Jew Jew Abrams" Ioe bidome (talk) 00:45, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Is there enough material for a section covering their lingo? Like "access media" and "M-She-U". GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 21:27, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

It doesn't seem complete enough for bronze upon a second look. Still, it's good work. This one's been in limbo for a while. Carthage (talk) 21:29, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. I agree, this is a relatively recent phenomenon and could use some polish over time. There are several "wanted articles" in the to-do list about people and topics related to this. It seems that there's some interest but no one was ready to put it all together. My first awareness of this phenomenon was the reaction to the 2016 Mockingbird series by Marvel, which I happened to be reading at the time. (It's a really good story with great art and I recommend it.) When the harassment against Chelsea Cain started to boil, I immediately thought "whoa, so this is where the gamergate shitheads went." —cosmikdebris talk stalk 21:35, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
