cquote problems[edit]

Why does putting this quqote in {{cquote}} not work?--The (((Kigel))) (talk) (mail) 15:36, 14 July 2016 (UTC) 15:36, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Might be worth adding some mention here or there. –MJLTalk 06:11, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Section about trolls[edit]

I think a section of this article should delve into bad faith trolls who attempt to equate pedophilia to LGBTQ+ people (ie. on 4chan). I know that isn't exactly pedo activism but it should be noted that some supposed activists are trying to push other malicious goals

8chan[edit]

I heard something about the Watkins eventually banning loli/shota boards. May or may not be correct. If true, it happened relatively recently, maybe only two or three years ago even. Chillpilled (talk) 02:49, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Mastodon/Fediverse[edit]

That guy's rant at the saloon bar reminds me. This page is lacking coverage of the pedosphere over on the Fediverse, particularly Mastodon. The servers that host these groups are blocked by most servers with sense (I believe there are some less-popular alt-right servers that federate with them but that's all) so I'm not meaning to smear Mastodon or the Fediverse at large here, but it's getting out of control over there and most of the fediverse users don't even realize because their server admins blocked federation with the pedo servers. Decentralized web attracts people who are banned from mainstream platforms like nothing else, so I guess this was kind of inevitable.

There is a SECJuice article on this topic but I found it to be pretty smear-y, trying to characterize Mastodon as just being solely a platform for pedos. Not any more the case than it's a platform for Nazis (seeing as Gab is technically a Mastodon instance and at one point was the largest server), if you understand how Mastodon even works at all, it's more like a patchwork of platforms that interlock or don't depending on server admin choices, rather than one monolithic platform. A couple other articles I turned up but there don't seem to be many: 1, 2.

I have gotten the impression that since those were written, in the past year or two this sphere has grown significantly. The pedo instances range from "MAP activists" (who seem to take on a more 'social justice'-y facade) expelled from places such as Twitter (though they still turn up there, ban evading) or perhaps turning up from places like Newgon chatrooms, to others that are porn-focused instances, some few of which that (at least rumor has it) they have amalgamated with alt-right spheres as alluded to before. I have heard that Pawoo, one large such server hosted in Japan, hosts real world CP. That is actually illegal in Japan now, as of some years ago, but there could be lax enforcement. Speak of the devil. New Stanford report on the subject of CSA material on Mastodon: 1, 2. It does not cover political pedophilia advocacy though. But this is a great source... Chillpilled (talk) 18:23, 25 July 2023 (UTC)

Title needs update[edit]

From the notes: Not to be confused with the aims of groups such as Virtuous Pedophiles, who believe that child sexual abuse is wrong and seek to raise awareness that some pedophiles do not offend. The title of this article should be updated to reflect this distinction, or the article should be reworked to focus more on this aspect, as it currently focuses on pro-abuse advocacy, not pro-pedophilia advocacy — Unsigned, by: 2001:67c:2628:647:5::97 / talk / contribs
