"In a remarkable technological feat" should read "In a remarkable oversight by the Martians, who had previously shot down other probes", surely?

I hear that the chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one. Does anyone have any evidence to back up this claim?

Martian probes

1) There is a local sentient species called 'Bars.' They picked up a radio program on 'Deep fried Mars Bars' and decided to take the threat seriously, until they finally built a TV receive and realised this 'delicacy' was the same as their 'deep fried Earth Bars.' Unfortunately they were picking up from London TV transmitters and cannot manage the switchover yet - so expect more fried Mars probes. 2) Assuming there is life on Mars of the 'bacteria and lichen varieties' mostly underground and similar to those found on Earth (search under 'bacteria deep in rocks'): how soon after terraforming of Mars begins will 'Save the Martian wildlife' groups emerge on Earth - or do the creatures have to be 'cuddly with appealing eyes' to be the focus of attention? 82.198.250.2 (talk) 15:53, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

There is 'a current story' about tardigrades being sent to the moon (and the possibility of them surviving to be retrieved).

"Subjugating the planet" problems

In my opinion, this section should be removed.It discourages space exploration, even though right now there are serious plans by NASA and Spacex. I know that Mars One was a scam, but there are realistic, serious plans to create space colonies. I also know there are important problems on doing it (you can watch this Kurzsgesagt video for more information [[5]]) but we can lern to adress them. We can't discourage an idea because of the existing problems. We land on the moon, even thought it seemed imposible ten years before.And i think we can put a human on the red planet.
To conclude, i think another page should be created on space exploration, that adresses the pros and cons of it. We can replace the current article with another called "mars exploration", that explains previous missions, and future plans, without treating mars colonisation as science woo.
