The Ugly[edit]

I think there´s a point of fact that´s important here, he didn´t derecognise Taiwan, the US´s official position at the time was that Chang Kai Shek was the legitimate president of all of China, and indeed the Taiwanese government claims to be the legitimate government of all of China to this date. It´s rather a case of the US deciding to recognise the PRC government as the legitimate government of all China, rather than the KMT Republic of china. I think this is an important detail that is missing, no state was claiming to be "Taiwan" at the time and the KMT certainly have never claimed that, especially under Chang. — Unsigned, by: John stetson / talk / contribs

Birth date[edit]

'Under the circumstances' adding the date is justified (and there may be 'activity' on the page on Saturday). Anna Livia (talk) 13:13, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Deaths from theranos fraud.[edit]

Inaccurate blood tests have actually killed people, and we shouldn't downplay it as 'seriously affected the health of patients.' A somebody. (talk) 02:21, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

Sure. Just provide a valid citation for your claim. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 02:24, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
Joseph Rago, Known Obamacare critic had his blood tested by Theranos in 2013 as he claimed in a WSJ article praising them, and than he died of Sarcoidosis 4 years later. A somebody. (talk) 02:46, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
That's not sufficient evidence. 1) He could have developed sarcoidosis after the test. 2) Sarcoidosis is not detected by blood test alone: "Diagnosis of sarcoidosis is a matter of exclusion, as there is no specific test for the condition." What has this to do with HK (who appears to be still alive)? Anna Livia (talk) 19:42, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

Citation 3[edit]

Citation #3 error 404s. It also seems to contradict what I've seen. Notwithstanding him being overrated or terrible for human rights, afaik a decent number of IR academics do consider him to be one of the more effective US secretary of states. I could be wrong though. At the the very least citation 3 should be replaced or substituted for either a new source or an internet archive link. — Unsigned, by: 2601:1C2:1600:63B0:8778:3A2E:BC2D:F893 / talk / contribs
