Phd?[edit]

On one of her books, she claims to have a Phd? A Phd in what? DinoCrisis (talk) 20:32, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

wikipedia is your friend: she has a doctorate in counseling psychology and is the founder and former director of WomanKind Psychiatric Hospital at Cumberland Hall Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee,--Green mowse.pngGodot She was a venus demilo in her sister's jeans 20:36, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Angelic friction[edit]

I’ve tried to research Doreen Virtue and I came up with any number of weird and implausible claims including that she, studied under Pythagoras during a past life. Angel Numbers LOL Despite this I haven’t found a citation for, “Sometimes there is friction between the path that our guardian angel wants us to walk, and the path we want to walk. Such friction manifests itself in a range of psychological and physical illness. Doreen Virtue can help "heal" the rift between you and your guardian angel, for a price, a big price actually. “ The above was there before I started editing [1]. Therefore reluctantly I put a {{fact}} template on. The claim about angelic friction is certainly in keeping with the general pattern of what Virtue writes and if anyone can provide a citation this will improve the article. It's three years later, and I can't find anything on it either. I just removed it. Carpetsmoker (talk) 00:15, 25 December 2015 (UTC)

Moderately educated and more[edit]

I tried to find out what Alexa means by 'moderately educated'. I found a different website dealing with a different subject that defines 'moderately educated' as follows:-

The study defines the affluent or highly-educated as those with college degrees, the moderately-educated as those with high school degrees but not four-year college degrees, and the least-educated as high school dropouts. [2]

I don't know if this is a generally accepted definition, as they write only that "The study defines" presumably different studies etc may define things differently. I suppose those who spent some time at community college after high school count as moderately educated. I assume further those who spent 4 years on a degree course but failed are also 'moderately educated'.

Anyway I wrote "without too much education" which is as vague as moderately educated. Proxima Centauri (talk) 16:27, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

How does Alexa reach its conclusions? Perhaps they use human assessors who look at a website and reason who is likely to be attracted there.

  1. The complex words, complex sentences and fairly complex ideas Doreen Virtue supplies are likely beyond what high school dropouts can easily read and understand. On the other hand university graduates who know the scientific method are likely to be highly skeptical of the material Doreen Virtue supplies. Therefore moderately educated people are likely attracted to Virtue.
  2. Men generally would rather not receive guidance from a woman therefore Doreen followers are likely primarily women.
  3. Charlatans People with special powers trying to reach younger women are likely to include in their sales pitch features like, 'How to get your man. How to keep him. How to find out if he really loves you.' Doreen Virtue doesn't do this therefore she is probably targeting older women.
  4. Women interested in questions like, "Is your child an Indigo child, a crystal child, a rainbow child?" have at least one child therefore Doreen's followers are likely to be mothers. Unless they have concrete data Alexa may be rash in assuming mothers of 'more' children. Mothers of an only child sometimes become convinced their child is special.

All the above is based on conjecture plus intuition and may be wrong. Then can anyone prove Alexa wrong or prove me wrong? Alexa may of course supplement whatever they get from cookies or other means. They may have information on who attends Doreen Virtue's courses for example. I've been waiting for years to find a course that deals with the multicultural aspect of ferries and focuses on the elementals. No one does elementals like Dorreen. Unfortunately the course costs more money than I can afford...so if I start up a go-fund me page...would you guys support it? ShabiDOO 16:14, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, nothing beats a nice course on ferries... (And I'd donate in heartbeat! Th hug.gif) Reverend Black Percy (talk) 16:42, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Will note the British Isles phrase 'Away with the fairies' - is this appropriate here? Anna Livia (talk) 20:35, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

Angel numbers[edit]

Is 'the number of angels that can dance on the head of a pin' relevant? Anna Livia (talk) 20:35, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
