Denial?

I don't think so. I'd originally included "where the speaker introduces a subject [by] denying that it is true", but took that out again as it seemed wrong. From the examples I can find and articles I've read, apophasis is about loudly denying that something is relevant to the conversation, or denying that you're talking about it, it's not about denying the thing itself. You want your audience to understand that you believe the statement to be true. --Qwop (talk) 19:49, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
