That starting to look cool.--Bobbing up 11:22, 3 August 2008 (EDT)

Only prob is that clicking on the bulb takes you to the file. Could confuse those who don't understand.--Bobbing up 11:23, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
The bulb should open the text. Then we can get rid of the "show/hide" text and make it nice and snug :nods: ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 11:25, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
It's a bit major to make the image link to anything but the file page - requires a couple of extensions I think SusanG  ContribsTalk 11:30, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Also getting rid of the show/hide button isn't so trivial either, since allowing inline javascript by editors would be dangerous it is added dynamically by an onload hook in the common js file. On the other hand, I've got to write new javascript to make the links to comments expand them, so I'll see what I can do. --JeevesMkII 11:41, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Fangs. ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 11:45, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
'Ow'sit look now? SusanG  ContribsTalk 11:50, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
S'not quite behaving how I'd expect. Really it should be dynamically choosing its own size and then reflowing the text around it. --JeevesMkII 11:53, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Yes, but then it takes over the page width on "Show". Don't you think it looks better confined to (say) 20%? SusanG  ContribsTalk 12:00, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
I'll leave you to it: we're virtually "edit warring" else. :-) SusanG  ContribsTalk 12:03, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
You could always take a copy to play with if you've got ideas, that'd stop us bumping in to each other so much. --JeevesMkII 12:05, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
How's User:SusanG/test2 look? SusanG  ContribsTalk 12:35, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Actually, your version has a much neater text alignment. ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 12:43, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
It doesn't have a border :P
Hey, can either of you make it so that the lightbulb lights up when the cursor passes over the text that refers to the note? And give it lasers. Actually, that's a bit too far. ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 12:42, 3 August 2008 (EDT)

(unindent) How the fuck did you do that? That seems to be what I was try to achieve, only when I did it if I don't constrain the bounding div to some fixed with it automatically chooses 100% and then the text doesn't flow around it. --JeevesMkII 12:58, 3 August 2008 (EDT)

Oh, duh. It's the legacy align="right" that breaks it. I'm an idiot. You're a genius. :D --JeevesMkII 13:04, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
No - I just started it from scratch! You could put in another parameter, defaulting to 20, to allow various widths (heh!) SusanG  ContribsTalk 13:32, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
You wanna move whichever one's final (I've lost track) to the CollapseComment template? SusanG  ContribsTalk 14:02, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
I'll wait until I've finished the javascript to do that, with text wrapped around the templates it becomes a little confusing as to which comment applies to which link without it. --JeevesMkII 14:19, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
I'd say "get rid of the bulb image". It just makes the box bigger... ħumanUser talk:Human 15:35, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
I love that bulb image. I think we should get rid of the text, if anything. ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 15:58, 3 August 2008 (EDT)

Another "use"[edit]

One place this function would be very nice is to make some of our navboxes collapsible. ħumanUser talk:Human 15:37, 3 August 2008 (EDT)

Lotsa places, The Helpnav possibly? SusanG  ContribsTalk 15:41, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Not so sure about helpnav, actually. I think that where it is (on help pages) people probably want to see it expanded. However, evonav, eg, could get very long, and might be a good place to start. Also, if we get good at it, it lets us create navbars with a lot of links without eating up an acre of screen. ħumanUser talk:Human 15:46, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
<hopeful>Did anyone like the my font test(the fourth test on the page)?</hopeful> ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 15:58, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Not particularly - but whatever floats your boat. SusanG  ContribsTalk 16:11, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Sulk.
Alright, so do you have a font in mind that you would like? Or are you opposed to the idea of the font in general...? ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 16:37, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
Personally, I'm opposed to anyone choosing a font other than the default. My browser, my choice, dammit! Wait, where have I heard this argument before? --JeevesMkII 16:44, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
I thought it might help it stand out from the text -- look more like an added commentary, as it should be. However, it's your project, so it's up to you. As long as you agree, obviously :P ~ Gloom(is never asleep) 16:49, 3 August 2008 (EDT)
