"Helter Skelter" was the name of a Beatles song, written by Paul McCartney and often cited as one of the very first (if not the first) heavy metal songs. The song was sullied by Charles Manson, who believed it to be a coded order to start a racial uprising in the United States and used it as part of his cult theology to direct his "Family" in their murder spree.

Helter Skelter is also the title of Vincent Bugliosi's book chronicling his prosecution of the monstrous Manson "family" crimes. Bugliosi has recently published a book promoting the prosecution of George W. Bush for various crimes against humanity and the U.S. Consitution.

The band U2 attempted to take the song back on their 1987 live album Rattle and Hum, but since that album was not particularly well received, it remains unclear if they actually managed to.
