- Arguably this is fair use, since the article is partly about the Python sketch. Anyway, the BBC is unlikely to take action against us for a screenshot, & besides which there are several other non-fair use pics around & no harm has come from them. weaseLOId

- Agree with the stoat. Fair use & anyhow it's a low res screenshot - not capable of being improved. There's more here if you want.

- As far as the fair use argument, it's pretty weak - "illustration" is not fair use. The low res screenshot factor doesn't matter much. That the Beeb might not issue a takedown request is irrelevant. And that others have done wrong doesn't make this right. Don't get me wrong, it looks great on the article. - I don't agree. Most pictures are for purposes of illustration. Wikipedia has had this picture up in their article about the sketch for well over a year, as fair use illustration of the subject. Our article is partly about the sketch as well as the historical inquisition, and includes critical discussion of how the sketch treats the historical subject, and this further legitimises the use of the image. If you want to be really serious about this, you could caption the picture to make it clear that this is illustrating the Monty Python treatment of the Inquisition, but I don't think that's really necessary. I think there is a fairly sound fair use argument. It might not be the strongest ever, but that only becomes an issue if & when action is taken regarding it. weaseLOId~ 16:17, 12 November 2008 (EST)
