Hey, how come this didn't pick up my aug/Sep 08 activity at CP? Below the threshold? ħuman 19:38, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
- Hmm, I think I figured it out - the colored squares are actually lined up incorrectly with the axis legend, I suspect. ħuman 19:40, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
- Ouch! Thanks for spotting this! It was a real error in my R-program: it assumed consecutive months of posting.. I hope I got it right, now. --LArron 23:29, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
- Either way, that's one hell of a cool way to show a lot of data! ħuman 19:43, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks --LArron 23:29, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
- I concur. You do one hell of a good job at presenting data. Does your career involve doing this sort of thing?—you have a real knack for it. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 23:41, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
- You're welcome. The new image is getting a bit "crowded" - harder to read. Maybe because you went to 150? Also, it could use a legend for the colors... what's up with the B/W greyscale people? Blocked? If so, why is Cracker grey on RW? ħuman 23:44, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
By the way, LArron... Although I understand that grey means blocked and yellow-red means not blocked, but what do the particular shades of yellow, orange, and red mean? Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 23:41, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
- So, I added the legend. It doesn't show all colors I used, as I tried to get a smooth scale: It's a kind of inverse heat-scale for the unblocked user, to match the gray-scale of the blocked ones.
- 100 commentators seem to be a good number, 150 are to many.
- Obviously, the entries are sorted by the month of the first comment, then by the number of total posts.

- LArron, are you going to run with this for the forseeable future? If so I'll pack up my spreadsheet as you're obviously much better at it. All I did was automate RA 's orginal concept. It also means that I can get rid of all the complaining when it isn't updated frequently enough by the edit count obsessives. :) ГенгисRationalWiki GOLD member 05:15, 8 September 2008 (EDT)
- Short version: Thanks, but no thanks...
- Medium version: I became member of this board a couple of weeks ago. At this moment, I don't know how long I will stay active.
- Elaborate Version: I created my account at Conservapedia in June, 2008, and started posting there for real in early August, 2008 as DiEb. I had the idea that it could be a place to present interesting mathematical concepts to bright high-school pupils, a place which I'd have liked in my school days (okay, as a medium bright high-school pupil :-)
- There are tons of interesting concepts out there - Hilbert's Hotel, countability, the hole Goedel-Escher-Bach shebang, but also Special Relativity, basic concepts of Quantum Theory ... - and it would have been a nice challenge to formulate those concepts in a way that schoolboys and girls could understand them.
- But I didn't get to this, as I run into - well, the very opposite of a bright high-school girl. Someone, who liked to play school as any enthusiastic five year old, and with the same grasp of the concept.
- I can't imagine a math-teacher who doesn't cherish the concept of the Peano Axioms. My disbelieve lead to my expulsion.
- During my whole stay at CP, I tried to concentrate on concepts which I thought to be indisputable. The thing I learned: With enough ignorance, you can debate any subject, the less you know, the fiercer the dispute - and the more annoyed the less ignorant debater get.
- I found this place here after my first infinite ban and created my account (larron ~ Dieb). After my second, even more infinite ban, I started to post. Someday, I'll write about my experience at CP in greater detail, it was a kind of Ionescu meets Beckett at Kafka's place...
- So, at the moment, I'm here, licking my cyber-wounds. I'm not sure what I expect form RW further on: Observing CP in its nuttiness is all fine and dandy, but I have to explore the other facets of this place.
- As for the data: I don't know whether I keep it up, yet.
- Thank you for tuning in :-) --LArron 12:22, 8 September 2008 (EDT)
Problems with Up-Dating[edit]
While the preview of the current version looks all-right, I always get the old version of the pic when linking to it... hmmm ... Here's the new one, as a new up-load --LArron 23:42, 7 September 2008 (EDT)
