Divination is the telling of the future through the use of the supernatural. It is extremely popular in various circles.

Neopagans tend to use traditional arcane methods that rely somewhat on chance, such as tarot cards or runes. Some may practice astrology.

Christians officially frown on divination, but many engage in it anyway. For example, various preachers will occasionally get up and say that "God has told them" that the end will come or that a major natural disaster is nigh. Their record is no better than that of the neopagans.

There have been many other methods of divination in the past, but animal sacrifice is frowned upon now. (It should be noted, though, that the earliest Chinese writing is from their earliest form of divination.)
