Off-mission[edit]

While articles about most countries are necessary, or at least defensible, I think that this one is a bit too small even for us.--ZooGuard (talk) 21:57, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

I can think of nothing interesting about this country except...um...er... it had a socialist one-party constitution where students could elect thier teachers? Or was that some other place? Oh fuck, get rid of it. Rennie McGreet (talk) 22:08, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Either we have articles on countries or we don't have articles on coutries. I think it's more than a little smug to decide that a particular nation is to small/unimportant for us to deem it worthy, somehow. I'd be more concerned that this is a two-line stub that says practically nothing rather than about the country's mission-liness. Blue (pester) 22:49, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
I HATE the country articles anyhow, unless they are funny ones. We aren't wikipedia. we have a "point of view". delete! :-) Pink mowse.pngGodotGrow a vagina 23:57, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Country articles would be a good way to collect on-mission material specific for or originating from that country. At the moment, a lot of them are either filler created to complete a list, or a dump for fancruft.--ZooGuard (talk) 10:20, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
I apologize for the "smugness". What I meant it that there is little to none on-mission material that could exist about it. Contrast with other small, but notable on-mission places like Rapa Nui.--ZooGuard (talk) 10:20, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
I only know about Sao Tome & Principe becuse it one of the most often missed countries in the Sporkle game of "fill in the country": http://www.sporcle.com/games/g/africa This is the game that taught me the countries of Africa (and it's fun! lol). Refugeetalk page 16:28, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
So what's the missionality of this? Should we lose it? If no-one's going to add any info then why have it? I say delete. Rennie McGreet (talk) 18:41, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Blast it into oblivion. TyAnnoy 18:47, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Ideally country article should start with their mission-friendly aspects, rather than reel off encyclopedia stuff that Wikipedia and the CIA factbook do far better than us, and because RationalWiki is not an encyclopedia. Rennie McGreet (talk) 09:57, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
