I am currently more-or-less resident at RationalWiki, while taking a long and not entirely intentional break from the real world. I ended up here after I started editing Wikipedia for a while a few months ago, then discovered Conservapedia after a chance comment by somebody on a WP talk page aroused my curiosity. I signed up at CP (as BeReasonable) to make a few blunt criticisms of their inane articles, & soon got blocked. Meanwhile I had discovered RW via WP's entry on CP, & started to watch the goings on at CP more closely & to learn who is who (there & here).
I managed to hold down an account at Conservapedia for quite a while as Sideways, with an intermittent pattern of mostly sensible edits and honest opinions, give or take the odd mildly subversive edit here & there. But I didn't have any real game plan for my presence there, & ultimately put myself in the line of fire by querying another user's block & then protesting the bastardish range block of my IP which was perpetrated as a consequence (see details here). Anyway, I'm fairly glad to be out of it, & have been watching CP (or even WIGO:CP) less & less since being banned from there myself.

I must admit that I've also occasionally vandalised Conservapedia or put up parody content, under the guise of my alter ego JuanK or other names. I haven't felt inspired to do so much lately, & trying to find a TOR path into CP is so tedious it's hardly worth the effort anymore. So most likely that is also a closed chapter.
Anyway, back to things I do at RationalWiki. I sometimes write articles, though possibly not as much as I should, comparative to how much time I spend here, since I tend to take a long time composing them once I start. Also I'm not really that knowledgeable about science or politics, & usually too lazy to do proper research. I have random ideas and make templates out of them, some of which people have actually used. I get involved in community things, which is probably why I've stayed here rather than Wikipedia, where the community is too big & serious to easily find a social place in. I spend way too much time here & sometimes wonder if I'm going a bit crazy. And now they've gone & made me a bureaucrat.
I'm also intermittently active at RationalWikiWiki, which is a bit of an oddity, but has its charms.
I know from experience that I have a tendency to move from one project to another, so I can't predict whether I'll always be as interested in RationalWiki as I am right now. There's always the possibility that, if & when I manage to sort out my real life, I might fade out of RW, or just suddenly vanish like smoke. Then again I might not. But until then, I remain the resident weaseL.
