For thousands of years, tribes which contained descent from Vietnamese to Austronesians have been trading ever since their arrival some 5,000 BCE. Their unique ability of sea fare is one of the reasons of their survival in the islands from Papua New Guinea to the northernmost islands in The Philippines. These tribes traded even in the vast distance of the island of Madagascar. Signs of Chinese traders could be seen which includes the the influence of culture resulting in different religions that the tribes never seen before. Originally, most of the natives where pagans. The belief slowly shifted either to [[Hinduism]] or later in the future,[[Buddhism]].

Sadly it wasn't us that first arrived in Southeast Asia. It was possibly the Homo erectus that first arrived holding the claim of being the first humanoids to arrive in Southeast Asia. The Homo erectus in the area were classified as Java men and the time period of their arrival is somewhat 500,000 years ago. But the claim of "first humanoids to arrive" was debated when archeologists found little humanoids called Homo florensiesis derived from the name of the island of their discovery or the "Hobbit" for their small body size. So currently the debate between the first humanoids hasn't thawed yet. The first Homo sapiens that arrived are the Tabon Men. These people lived somewhat 50,000 years ago through a hunter-gatherer life style. They created a primitive form of jewelry, gathered dead animal bones for ceremonies and created burial jars.
