Fair use only applies as far as this: the image is needed to illustrate the article about the film. Wikipedia often removes fair use images from (eg) userpages, and articles where use of the picture can be replaced with a free image. I can't see a fair use rationale applying to this image's use on this site. Totnesmartin 07:22, 11 December 2008 (EST)

Is it talking about the film if you're quoting the film? WazzaHello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me... 08:22, 11 December 2008 (EST)
Not really. It extends to an encyclopedia article about the film. Just quoting the film doesn't need an illustration, however much we'd like one. Of course this only really matters if Unversal's copyright laywer visits the site and takes offence. Totnesmartin 08:30, 11 December 2008 (EST)
If Universal's copyright lawyer does come to the site, I will put my hand up as the leader of this copyright rebellion. WazzaHello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me... 08:33, 11 December 2008 (EST)
Well, as it's about Spartacus, we all should! Totnesmartin 08:50, 11 December 2008 (EST)
