American English

There is a broader, perhaps slightly less biased, article on Wikipedia about American English

American English is a bastardization of the true English language as practiced in central north America, a location usually referred to as the "United States".

Americans are too cheap to use gratuitous "u"s that seem too French to them, and also like short, easy to spell words like "lite", "2", "r", and "donut". While this was largely due to language "reforms" proposed by smart people like Noah Webster, it has recently been reinforced and made worse by "America On Line".

Americans also pronounce many words incorrectly. It's a wonder the British even let them call it "English".
