Reduced Block time

That wandal has wandalised several times in the past few days (Grawp, Hagger etc) - Block time should have been extended! SusanG  ContribsTalk 18:36, 16 May 2008 (EDT)

Was, of course, me, helping Trent experiment. In the meantime, thanks for fixing, and you pretty much proved the case against Chaos!' crap at community standards.

re: Welcome, and err.... what?

I have user pages on a fairly large number of wikis and I like to keep track of the statistics for each wiki to see which ones are growing, and which ones are going stagnant. BlankVerse 21:12, 6 July 2008 (EDT)

Ah, ok, just was curious, thanks for the clarification. Pinto's5150 Talk 21:27, 6 July 2008 (EDT)

Your damn apostrophe

That's what was doing it. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate apostrophes.....anyway, do you mind if I reactive the message for your account and see if you can erase it? TMT's sock 21:29, 22 August 2008 (EDT)

Go right ahead. You know what, I'm just going to be nice and name-change to something apostrophe free. Pinto's5150 Talk 21:30, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
No need on my account, I think I have it fixed. Let me know. You should see the message now. tmtoulouse oppress 21:34, 22 August 2008 (EDT)

Sorry to hear that Pinto. My wife was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in the upper arm about five years ago, the tumour was growing in the bone. She had radio, loads of chemo and a titanium prosthesis to replace the bone followed by a stem cell transplant when the cancer recurred. Fortunately the stem cell transplant seemed to do the trick as she's been clear for over three years now. It's a long hard slog and I hope you make it safely through. Modern medicine can do wonders, so I'll refrain from resorting to classroom prayer and just say "all the best". Redchuck.gif Генгисmutating 18:27, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
Thanks all. Like I said in that edit, I start treatment tomorrow, and things are looking hopeful. Pinto's5150 Talk 19:35, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

Better, today's the first day I've really had any strength what so ever since friday. That chemo really can take it out of a person. Pinto's5150 Talk 00:19, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Hey, Pinto, I didn't know about your trouble. Best wishes from a fellow sufferer - mine was cut out but the follow up chemo's been nasty. As a medic you're probably worse off than us lay people - ignorance is, if not bliss, at least not terrifying. Best of luck.
(ec) I'm permanently tired - or should I say lacking in energy. In bed for hours & then can't sleep - and I've just been in & out of hospital with a kidney crash. SusanG  ContribsTalk 00:24, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
It's nice to have both of you around when we know how your personal energies must be stretched so thin. Hang in there, our goats are with you both! ħumanUser talk:Human 00:25, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
PS, I hope that when it's my turn, someday, I have a bunch of screwballs like you folks to come play with. ħumanUser talk:Human 00:26, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Strangely enuff, I regard everyone on here as my friends & it is nice playing in our mutual sandpit (is that the right word for the US?) SusanG  ContribsTalk 00:32, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
While much of the US is a sandpit, some of it is wheat and corn fields, and some is a bit Valish, even a tiny bit Cym Reagy. Too damn cold in winter, though, and not wet enough ;) And, yeah, no matter what sparks may be flying, I find it easy to think of all on here as my friends, too. ħumanUser talk:Human 00:37, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

how's things, Pinto? (interested party) Toast s.png(with cheese)talk to Toast 04:58, 12 January 2009 (EST)
Eh, I've been alot better, but things are going well, relatively. Had a surgery to remove the tumor (and subsequently my entire left humerus) about three weeks ago, so that mixed with chemo equals blah. Pinto's5150 Talk 05:35, 12 January 2009 (EST)
Just getting over first batch of chemo. Confined to bed or stagger to settee - surgery not as radical as yours & now an age ago. All sympathies with you - I think of you often. Toast s.png(with cheese)talk to Toast 05:42, 12 January 2009 (EST)
Just out of curiosity, and if you don't mind my asking, what type of chemo? Also, despite the odd intricacies of the internet, thank you, that means alot. Pinto's5150 Talk 05:51, 12 January 2009 (EST)
After surgery adjuvant chemotherapy (which apparently just means "after surgery") consisting of 2 batches of 3 days in hospital getting: carboplatin and paclitaxel with, possibly, more to come. The benefit of not having to bother about graying. or indeed any, hair is the only compensation. :) Toast s.png(with cheese)talk to Toast 06:07, 12 January 2009 (EST)
