Just a to-do list. Most these will require input and effort from numerous other people.

[edit] Categories

  • Work out a definitive policy for categories. Should some articles be put in both the general category and the specific category? What is should criteria determines which articles would go into both the parent category and subcategory, which articles go in only the parent category, and which in only the subcategory? Or should we eliminate subcategories entirely? Just some of them? If only some of them should be deleted, what is criteria determines which subcategories are kept and which are deleted?
  • Several editors seem to be leaning towards flattening the category tree and trimming some of the more frivolous branches. I suspect we'll need to consolidate the United States Representatives and United States Senators cats, as either one is sparsely populated. Category:Congressmembers, perhaps?
  • We really need to work out what the difference between anthropology and sociology is. There is a large degree of overlap, and I can't find any functional difference between them. Same goes for culture and society. (And thank you Wikipedia... for being absolutely useless in figuring out the difference between them.)
  • Work out the difference, if there is any, between human rights and civil rights.
  • Work out the difference, if there is any, between United States law in general and Constitution. There's an awful lot of overlap.
  • There appears to be a lot of overlap between between Pseudoscience and the culture wars and Assessing pseudoscience. One or the other may need to go (probably the culture wars one).
  • Our articles about rhetoric are spread across many categories. Logic, arguments, false arguments, Evaluating arguments, etc. I think most of them would be better off consolidated into a new category, Rhetoric, which covers logic, arguments, etc. (Rhetoric is the art of using logic and other means to persuade people, which is arguably what these articles are all about.)

[edit] Categories I think we need

  • Category:Religious fundamentalism and/or Category:Fundamentalist Christianity. Also equivalent people categories (i.e. Category:Fundamentalists and/or Category:Fundamentalist Christians). As it is, we have nothing denoting our our articles about religion in general from articles covering the more intolerant, literalist aspects of religion.
  • Category:Constitutional law. We may have enough articles describing the legal aspects of the United States Constitution to merit it (most are currently in United States law).
