Hoaxes

The first quote, "god was sacrificing this child as a way to show others the light. much as he did his own child. what a beautiful gift he has given us." is clearly a hoax. For those who aren't familiar with yahoo answers' R/S section, it is very common for atheists to hide their q/a profile and then give outrageous answers from a Christian or Muslim perspective to try to make religious people look bad (as most of you know, deceit is a common tool). You usually have to be around long enough that you can recognize names or avatars to notice. howie r was clearly one who did this. Here is the original quote page: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071107071142AAOuE9R&cp=2 . Notice when you put your curser over howie r, he joined on August 21, 2007 and has 1921 answers (7% best). Now look at this question: "When will christians understand that threatening atheists with hell is a waste of time? We don't believe in hell.Your threats are irrelevent to us..." Here howie r, with the same join date and number of answers agrees with the atheist, replying "It gives them purpose but it sure makes them look silly. Great post." And this question where the same howie r writes "Its not normal to be ashamed of your beliefs but it does seem normal to question them and that is were Athiests have the edge. They have come to conclusion based on rationale analysis and believe in what they believe. And then they go on with thier lives." Here is howie r answering "A hypothetical scenario/question for the atheists?": "Here is a hypothetical for you? You have been called and your loved one is dying? do you take them to a hospital built by man and his learned sciences to cure them or at least ease thier pain or do you drop to your knees and ask god to cure them while they suffer and die at your feet, all the time questioning why your god let them get sick in the first place. I always wonder how you deal or cope with life's tragedies without the support of science and medicine. YOUR TURN" Clearly howie r identifies as an atheist and this should be noted as an example of Poe's Law, especially considering the prominent place it is given here. The FSTDT best-of may have gathered some new gems since the ones copied here was last updated. The racist gibberish link

I've been active on FSTDT at least as long as I've been active on RW and the link I freely admit to edit-warring over (but will stop now that i'm posting this) is FSTDT at its strangest and most amusing. Last I checked, strange and amusing is hardly unwelcome here, especially if it demonstrates the content of the site it's linking to. I mean, I could post a couple of links to DoctorDoom or savagesusie posts (they'd certainly be relevant, as they do consume a rather large amount of database between them), but this is kind of epic.
