Ken Kesey

Ken Kesey is an American author and former commune leader. He is most remembered for One Flew Over the Cockoo's Nest. He started a commune, known as the Merry Pranksters, after receiving royalties from the book. He entertained such luminaries as Hunter S. Thompson, Tom Wolfe, Alan Ginsburg, the Hell's Angels and Neil Cassady - the real life model for "Dean Moriarty" in Jack Kerouac's beat novel On the Road.
