Jungle music
From RationalWiki
"Jungle music" is a racist term for any music developed from African-American traditional music, including but not limited to rock, jazz, hip-hop, and R&B. The term tends to ignore the fact that such music has, over the years, proven to be popular among people of all races and classes, and also the fact that most African-Americans have never seen or been anywhere near a jungle in their entire lives.
The term was actually used during the early 20th century to describe a specific subgenre of jazz particularly represented by the early work of Duke Ellington (who was decidedly mixed-race, being of Creole descent), but the term is seldom used outside of historical contexts. (Such as the well-known PBS documentary series Ken Burns' Jazz.) In modern usage it is also a rough synonym for drum-and-bass dance music.
