Fun:Wine

The fermented juice of grapes is called wine. Typically it can have an alcohol content from nearly zero to 15 or 16%. Formerly France was recognized as the source country of the better wines, followed by Italy with Germany, Spain and Austria sharing third place. Nowadays modern production methods have allowed the United States, Australia, South America, South Africa, Wales and Kent [1] (both in the UK) and Eastern Europe to make inroads into what was once a French near monopoly.

There is considerable "snob" appeal in the selection and appreciation of wine; connoisseurs being supposedly able to identify the field in which the grapes for a particular wine were grown. Why this should matter, when the real reason for wine drinking is to render oneself pleasantly intoxicated, is a mystery to most.

Wine is considered by some to be one of the 4 food groups along with chocolate, coffee, and everything else.
